Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Shunlong, 44, lived in the Xincheng Sixth Group, Yanping Township, Dongliao County, Jilin Province. On May 26, 2006, he was illegally arrested from his home by policemen from the local Liaoheyuan Police Station, and tortured and killed on the same day. His body was cremated on May 28, 2006 without his family's approval. His wife, also in detention at the time, was very distraught by his sudden death. She appeared mentally disoriented, and was released home.

Before Zhang Shunlong's arrest, his younger brother, Zhang Shunhong, and sister-in-law Liu Xiangzhuo had been arrested and detained in the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. The police arrested Zhang Shunlong using the excuse of stopping him from going to the Dongji Police Department to request the release of his younger brother. Currently, his older brother Zhang Shunming and sister-in-law (a non-practitioner) are all detained in the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.

On April 26, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Shunhong and his wife Liu Xiangzhuo were arrested and detained together with several practitioners. Early on the morning of May 26, 2006, Zhang Shunlong, his wife Lu Fengling and Ms. Lu's younger sister (a non-practitioner) and Zhang Shunlong's older brother, Zhang Shunming, planned to go to the Dongji Police Department to request the release of their family members, but they were all arrested by police from Liaoyuanhe Station. They spread the word that they would go to Beijing to appeal this injustice. The police brutally beat Mr. Zhang Shunlong, and eyewitnesses saw him falling to his death from the third floor of the police station building. He had been beaten until he was covered in blood -- it was terrible to see. Mr. Zhang's body was then dissected and cremated without the family's approval.

The Administration of the Liaoheyuan Police Station has sealed all information about Zhang Shunlong's death.

Mr. Zhang's family remaining at home consists of his elderly mother (in her 70s or 80s) and 2 young children, plus his wife, who was just released after suffering a mental breakdown.

Practitioner Chen Xiuan, from Huainan City, Anhui Province, went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in October 1999. The police returned him to his home jurisdiction and sentenced him to a year in prison. After his release in October 2000, Chen Xiuan persisted in his cultivation in Falun Gong, so plainclothes officers followed him and kept him under surveillance. The police arrested Mr. Chen again and sentenced him to another two years in prison at the Baihu Farm in Anhui Province. They detained him for an additional month after his sentence term expired. After his release in March 2003, plainclothes officers again followed Mr. Chen and kept him under surveillance. On April 25, 2005, the police arrested him a third time and took his house key. They used the key to enter his home, and ransacked it. However they failed to find any incriminating "evidence." The police detained Chen Xiuan in the Huainan City Traffic Police Station, and later they secretly sentenced him to an additional thirteen years in prison.

On April 26, 2005, police arrested practitioner Huang Bangjun, 64, and his wife, 63, and sentenced them to three-year and two-year prison terms, respectively. The police also ransacked their home.

The police sentenced practitioner Wang Ziqiang to thirteen years in prison after arresting him in July 2005. At that time, his mother was ill. After her son’s arrest, Mr. Wang's became extremely worried and soon passed away as a result.

On the first level of the Railway Station and on the platform, scanners are set up at the entrance. They are there to check the passenger’s luggage as well as all personal belongings. One main item they look for are computer CDs, which will activate a beeper when detected. There are a total of 60 officers working at the station. Twenty young recruits have recently joined them, mainly through connections. They are divided into four shifts, and on every shift, there are five male officers and one female officer.

On the surface, they are checking passengers who may possess "restricted articles" -- namely, highly dangerous goods, explosives or drugs. In reality, the authorities are more concerned about finding Falun Gong practitioners among the passengers. As an incentive, a minimum of 500 yuan is paid to an officer whose actions lead to the arrest of someone who carries restricted articles.

In 2005, while trying to board the No.2155 Train, a female Falun Gong practitioner was arrested by three police officers at the checking gate. Zhou Yanwu, the officer at the check gate was rewarded 500 yuan.

During the 2006 Chinese New Year, two police officers, Liu Xu and Sun Shiguo, arrested two Falun Gong practitioners.

Again in April 2006, while walking along the platform, Falun Gong practitioner Liang Jingli was stopped by female police officer Zhang Xiaomei. Before he knew what was happening, he was placed under arrest. He never arrived at his destination. Two weeks later, his family found out that he was taken to the Qiqihar railway station where he was interrogated, beaten, and tortured. When the family demanded his release, they were turned away. Mr. Liang protested by going on a hunger strike. As of now, he is still in detention and his life is in jeopardy.

Between late April and early May 2006, nine Falun Gong practitioners in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were illegally arrested.

On April 20 and April 21, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Yuan Aiwu was arrested at her residence in Chifeng City. Her high school-aged daughter and another practitioner, Li Ronglan from the Wengniute Flag in Chifeng City, were presumably arrested at the same time.

On the afternoon of April 21, Yuan Aiwu’s husband Chen Jianxue was arrested at his work place, and their home was ransacked.

In the evening of April 22, Falun Gong practitioner Wang Hai was arrested when he went to Yuan Aiwu's residence.

On the evening of April 30, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Yufang and her husband Mr. Xu from the Songshan District were arrested. The persecutors took computer(s) and printer(s).

On April 30, police arrested practitioner Xiang Honglei from Hongshan District and confiscated her notebook computer.

On May 2, practitioner Li Fengling from Hongshan District was arrested and her printers and computers were taken.

The persecutors sent Xiang Honglei to a brainwashing class and the other practitioners to forced labor camp(s).

1. [Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province] More Than Ten Falun Gong Practitioners Illegally Arrested

On May 29, police officers from Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province, illegally arrested more than ten Falun Gong practitioners from the county. These practitioners are now being held in the Nanjiang County Detention Center.

2. [Zhejiang Province] Practitioner Ms. Chen Wenying Held in the Leqing Detention Center

On May 22, 2006, Leqing City 610 Office agents in Zhejiang Province broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Chen Wenying. She lives at 10 Qianxiang, Dongjinfu, Hongqiao Town, Leqing City, Zhejiang Province. They arrested and ransacked her home and took her middle-school-age child’s computer. Ms. Chen was the only one home.

3. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Pu Baoyu Still Illegally Detained (Belated News)

Practitioners Ms. Pu Baoyu, 52 years old, was arrested. Officers from the Xishan District National Security Bureau made the arrest and then held her in Xiaobanqiao Detention Center. On August 2, 2005, the police extorted 30,000 yuan from her family and promised to release her, but she continues to be held to this day.

4. [Shanghai] Practitioner Ms. Jiang Yufang Deceived by Authorities and Arrested

Early in the morning on April 30, 2006, Ms. Jiang Yufang from the Zhabei District, Shanghai was on her way to remove a banner that contained slandering words. The police waiting near the banner lied to her and arrested her. She is now held in the Qingpu Brainwashing Center.

5. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Hongdan from Liaoning Province Financial Cadres’ Management Institute Recently Arrested

Several days ago, Mr. Lu Hongdan from the Liaoning Province Financial Cadres' Management Institute was arrested by officers from the Youyi Police Department and sent to the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center.

6. [Shanghai] Practitioner Wang from Shanghai Arrested

On the evening of May 25, a practitioner surnamed Wang from Shanghai was arrested by officers from the Caoyangwu Village Police Department and agents from the Putuo 610 Office. The practitioner's home was ransacked.

7. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Police Arrest Mr. Jiang Di, His Wife and Daughter

According to a reliable source, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Di, his wife and daughter from Handan City, Hebei Province. Jiang Di and his daughter are held in a brainwashing class, and his wife is held in a labor camp.

8. [Yunnan Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wei Jiabi and Others Arrested

Ms. Wei Jiabi, 57 years old, lived in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. On April 21 she clarified the truth at the Ciba Heavy Machine Factory in Kunming City and handed out truth-clarification materials. She was arrested.

Practitioners Ms. Wang Zhimei, Mr. Tong Dehua, Ms. Yang Muhua, and Ms. Shi Yun from Anning County were arrested at 6:00 p.m. on April 24, 2006.

9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Zhirong Arrested

Around 9:30 a.m. on May 29, practitioner Ms. Liu Zhirong from Qingdao City received a phone call from the Qingdao City Court, telling her to report to the court. Her family accompanied her. Officers from Badahu Police Department in Qingdao City, who had long waited outside the court, pushed her into a police car and coerced her family to sign a pre-written arrest warrant. Ms. Liu was then sent to the Dashan Detention Center.

10. [Beijing] Practitioners Ms. Zhang Xueqin, Ms. Chen Ping, and Ms. Sun Xiaoqin Still Being Held

In the morning of March 14, 2006, Ms. Zhang Xueqin and her daughter, Ms. Chen Ping, were arrested from home. Performing the arrest were officers from the Shangdi Police Department and from the Qinghe Police Department in the Haiding District, Beijing. Their families have not seen them since. They are being held in the Haidian Police Department Detention Center on Longgang Road in the Haidian District. Each time their family members attempt to visit them, the police confiscate all of the daily necessities the family members bring them, but refuse to let the family members meet with Ms. Zhang or Ms. Chen. The police stated they had sentenced Ms. Zhang Xueqin to two-and-a-half years in prison and Ms. Chen Ping to two years in prison.

Practitioner Ms. Sun Xiaoqin lived in Shangdi. She was arrested and her family has not seen her since the arrest.

11. [Beijing] Many Practitioners Including Huang Ronghua Arrested

Around 11:00 a.m. on May 25, 2006, several evildoing people went on an illegal raid. The evildoers were Shen Zesong, Party Secretary from Dongyantou Village, Mulin Town, Shunyi District, Beijing; Shen Zeyi, the village head; and Xu Guilai, the village security official. These people led 610 Office agents to arrest practitioners Mr. Huang Ronghua (her second arrest), Ms. He Xiulan (second arrest), Ms. Li Huanlan, and Mr. Li Zengqi. They ransacked these practitioners’ homes and took Falun Gong books, truth clarification materials, and printing equipment.

Right now, Mr. Huang Ronghua is being held in the Fengbo 610 Office brainwashing center, where he forbidden to sleep.

12. [Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Xinying from the Langfang Campus of Hebei University of Technology Sent to Brainwashing Center

Around 3:00 p.m. on May 22, 2006, Mr. Wang Xinying's superiors called him while he was working in his office. The superiors asked his opinion toward Falun Gong. As they were speaking, Feng Guoji from the Langfang City National Security Group/Anti-[slanderous term omitted] Group led about five plainclothes police officers and barged in. They took Mr. Wang Xinying away. It was later learned that Mr. Wang is being held in a brainwashing center, a newly built facility near the west side of the Langfang City Detention Center.

13. [Luoning County, Henan Province] Practitioner Ms. Meng Xiulan Arrested When Distributing Truth Clarification Materials

14. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Mr. Wei Yingxin Sentenced to Four Years

On the afternoon of May 25, 2006, practitioner Mr. Wei Yingxin was sentenced to four years in prison by the Yuexiu District Court.

15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Qingjun Arrested

On May 28, 2006, practitioner Mr. Zhang Qingjun from Hougou Village, Gaoli Town, the Hanting District, Weifang City, was reported when distributing truth clarification materials in Gaoli Town. He was arrested by officers from the Gaoli Town Police Department, who later ransacked his home. His current detention location is unknown.

16. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Xian Chunwei Again Sent to a Labor Camp

Mr. Xian Chunwei from Zhuanghanmiao, Mihe Town, Qingzhou City, Shandong Province was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in June 2005. He has been held in the Strictly Controlled Team, Group 6, and his family has never been allowed to meet with him. This is the second time he was sent to a labor camp. The first time was to the Changle Forced Labor Camp where he was held for three years, after which his sentence was extended by nine months.

17. [Shandong Province] Mr. Li Hua and His Wife, Zhang Ruxian, Arrested, Their Daughter’s Whereabouts Unknown

Twelve days ago, practitioners Mr. Li Hua, his wife Ms. Zhang Ruxian and their daughter, Zhang Min, from the Shengli Oilfield area went to their hometown and clarified the truth on the train. Some plainclothes police officers arrested them. Right now, the couple is being held in Gongying Brainwashing Center, but Zhang Min’s whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Hongan County, Hubei Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Changrong Sent to a Brainwashing Center

Around 7:00 p.m. on May 22, Mr. Li Changrong from Hongan County was arrested by county 610 Office agents at a construction site and sent to a brainwashing center in Wuhan City.

19. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Cao Xiaorong’s Family Threatened

After the official threats against Ms. Cao Xiaorong’s family were exposed, the police threatened her brother, Mr. Cao Dongsheng, on May 30. They ordered Ms. Cao’s family and her brother not to practice Falun Gong or they would be arrested.

20. [Guangdong Province] Practitioner Mr. Ming Shenglin Arrested and Sent to Sanshui

Mr. Ming Shenglin, an engineer originally from Hebei Province who worked at the Tonghua LCD Monitor Corporation Ltd. in Dongwan City, Guangdong Province, was arrested by police in December 2005 when he was distributing truth clarification materials. He was held in a detention center for several months and was later transferred to Sanshui to be persecuted further.

21. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Elderly Practitioners Ms. Sun Yueying and Ms. Yang Shunhua Arrested

Last weekend, police arrested practitioners Ms. Sun Yueying and Ms. Yang Shunhua, retirees from Shenzhen City Forest Science and Technology Institute. It’s unknown where they are being held.

22. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Retiree Ms. Xu Shenglan Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Xu Shenglan, a retiree from the Changcheng Factory in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, is in her 60s. She was arrested on the evening of May 22 and is now being held in the Nanchong City Detention Center.

23. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Guo Huaying Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Guo Huaying, 54 years old, lived in Shuier Village, Shuiji Town, Laixi City, Qingdao. She was arrested at 11:00 a.m. on May 25, 2006, when she was cooking at home. Arresting agents were from the Laixi City 610 Office and police officers including Shen Tao, who drove a car to her home. Ms. Guo's family still does not know where she is being held.
