  • Twelve Falun Gong Practitioners Taken into Police Custody after Luo Gan's Secretary Visited Chicheng

On April 21, 2007, the secretary of Luo Gan (one of the primary perpetrators of the persecution) went to Chicheng, Hebei Province. When he passed the Dahaituo Tourist Area in Chicheng County, he saw the large banners posted by Falun Gong practitioners to clarify the truth and save sentient beings. After he returned to Beijing, he reported this to his boss. He then pressured the government officials of Hebei Province, Zhangjiakou City, and Chicheng County, accusing them of not being able to suppress Falun Gong effectively. As a result, the Political and Judiciary Committee of Hebei Province and the 610 Office of Zhangjiakou set up a special team. They went to Chicheng County and worked with the local police department to persecute practitioners. In every town in the county, the police arranged someone to keep surveillance at night. Police vehicles patrolled the streets everywhere.

On the night of April 23, three female practitioners from Longmensuo Township went to clarify the truth and encountered the patrolling police vehicles. They were taken to the county police department and later detained at Zhangjiakou City Detention Center for 15 days. They were Ms. Ji Yuhua, Ms. Wang Sulan, and Ms. Nin Nin.

Around 7 a.m. on April 24, the deputy director of the county police department, Fan Kaichun, led a group of officers to break into the home of practitioner Ms. Chen Haiyan. When they found out that she had moved, they threatened the landlord and told him to not tell her that they had been there. They then went to Ms. Chen's parent's home. Her mother is over 60 years old and her father was ill at home. With complete disregard for the couple's age and physical condition, they searched the home and took away Falun Gong books that Chen's mother normally read, an MP3 player, and other articles.

That morning, Jiang Wenhai and another policeman took Chen Haiyan's husband into custody. Ms. Chen's husband, Zhao Binheng, was driving a taxi at the time. The police took possession of the taxi that Zhao and his family depend on for a living. The police then went to Mr. Zhao's home and took away a computer their children used for study, Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, and cellphones, among other things. They arrested an elderly gentlemen living in the same building and practitioner Wang Haojun. During the search, practitioner Ms. Wang Yuzhen happened to visit Mr. Zhao, and the police also arrested her without any question. Around 6 p.m., the police took Chen Haiyan into custody as well.

Around 9:30 p.m., police officer Zhang Yongxin led a group people to break into the home of practitioner Wang Yuhai. Wang was home alone at the time. The police arrested Wang and took away Falun Gong books, a cellphone, an MP3 player, a TV, a recorder, and some wires that were on the floor.

Around 11 p.m. that night when people were resting at home, the police went to the homes of practitioners Guo Xiulin and Lin Cuilian. They pretended to be from the Property Bureau in order to get them to open their doors. They arrested the two practitioners and searched their homes. The same night, several police broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Wang Yufeng and took away her books and other articles. Around 7 a.m. on April 25, they arrested Ms. Wang at her mother's home. At the time, she was only wearing underwear and was barefooted. The police carried her to the police vehicle. It was early in the morning while people were going to work and school. Many residents witnessed the brutality of the police in persecuting good people. Before May 1, the police also arrested practitioner Zhang Xiufeng from Dahaituo.

This series of arrests demonstrates the hooliganism of the police, in this case led by Fan Kaichun and Zhang Yongxin. During the police searches, they were like common thieves, taking everything they saw and throwing other things on the floor. They ransacked practitioners' homes. Just like people are saying nowadays, "The bandits that used to live in the mountains are now in the police departments."

The Bureau of Education in Xiong County, Hebei Province Actively Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners

Recently, the Education Bureau of Xiong County, Hebei Province have started another round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in schools. They pressured everyone in the schools to write and sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. They also specifically requested that everyone not talk to anyone about the persecution against Falun Gong during the 2008 Olympics.

The Education Bureau of Xiong County has been persecuting Falun Gong since July 20, 1999. Every year, around politically sensitive dates, they release an order to each school that all teachers have to denounce Falun Gong and sign a statement. The Bureau distributed posters to all the schools that slander Falun Gong. The teachers who practiced Falun Gong and refused to write statements were monitored, interrogated and even taken to brainwashing centers. If the teachers refused to give up their belief, they were sent to forced labor camp.

The following are several cases of the Bureau of Education's participation in the persecution against Falun Gong during the past eight years.

    1. Ms. Han Junmiao was illegally arrested, harassed and tortured until she died

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Han Junmiao worked hard and never took advantage of others nor accepted bribes. The Bureau of Education, however, had police officers take her away from work and sentenced her to three years in a forced labor camp. Ms. Han was tortured brutally in the forced labor camp. She suffered greatly both physically and mentally and almost lost her life there. During this time, the school authorities removed her from her position. In 2003, after Ms. Han was released from the camp, the Bureau of Education had someone monitor her at home.

In the spring of 2005, in order to be able to make a living, Ms. Han asked the school authorities many times to let her resume work. The school leader would not accept her application due to pressure from the 610 Office. One day, the Bureau agreed to send her case to the 610 Office, asking for approval. The very next day, Li Chengchun and seven other people from the 610 Office broke into Ms. Han's home, arrested her and sent her to a forced labor camp. Ms. Han was able to return home after the camp refused to take her.

The relentless persecution interfered with Ms. Han and her family and they were not able to live a normal life, let alone practice the Falun Gong exercises. Ms. Han once said, "I don't remember how many times we were harassed after I was released from the forced labor camp. They either stand in front of my house to monitor me or break into my house at any time of the day. My family cannot live like that. My daughter didn't want to come home after school and she couldn't pay attention in her classes."

Under this tremendous pressure, Ms. Han's health deteriorated and she died on May 6, 2005, at the age of 53. She lost her life simply because she wanted to be a good person who speaks the truth and values morality.

    2. Ms. Liu Qian died as a result of persecution two months after she started to practice Falun Gong

On November 15, 2003, 12-year-old Liu Qian, who studied in the Gegezhuang Elementary School in Xiong County, was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Her liver and spleen were swollen and she had a high fever. She couldn't breathe and had extreme pain in her abdomen. Her lungs were filled with fluids and her white blood cell count was up to 62,000 per milliliter. Not very long after she was hospitalized, the doctor announced that her life was in danger and that she could not be treated.

Qian's family took her home and as a last resort, they read Zhuan Falun to her. Thereafter, Liu Qian's illnesses healed quickly and she started to practice Falun Gong. She learned how to ride a bike and her cheeks looked rosy and no one could believe that a doctor had once given up on her.

Liu Qian's parents took her back to the hospital and found that her white blood cell count was normal (4400 per milliliter). Her illness didn't return until January 17, 2004. Qian used to love to go to school. After she recovered from her illness, she knew that she could go back to school in the spring.

However, on the day that school started (January 17, 2004) the Bureau of Education ordered that students were not allowed to practice Falun Gong. The principal and teachers in the Gegezhuang Elementary School took Liu Qian to the principal's office and told her that she had to give up Falun Gong and write a statement. They wanted Qian to choose between school and Falun Gong. She chose to practice Falun Gong. The principal sent her home and expelled her from school.

The next day, when Liu Qian learned that they had expelled her from school, she cried and could not believe this had happened. She couldn't get over it and stopped practicing Falun Gong. On January 22, 2004, five days later, Liu Qian suddenly lost consciousness and died.

A young life with a bright future has been lost. Liu Qian was not allowed to live and be healthy and happy. The authorities of the Gegezhuang Elementary School were not even ashamed of what they did. They made all the children visit a room full of posters that slandered Falun Gong and used all sorts of vicious lies to brainwash these innocent children.

    3. Ms. Zhang Xinyi was fired from her job, and sent to a forced labor camp for practicing Falun Gong

Ms. Zhang Xinyi was an art teacher at the Xiongzhou Town Middle School in Xiong County. She was a kind hearted person. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, Ms. Zhang followed the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance in her teachings. Her students and colleagues spoke highly of her. Her students said that Ms. Zhang never got upset and always smiled, "We liked to be in her class."

After the persecution started, officials from the Bureau of Education helped the Xiong County's 610 Office many times to arrest Ms. Zhang. She was brutally tortured in the Xiong County brainwashing center.

On the evening of November 16, 2006, an agent from the 610 Office broke into Ms. Zhang's house and carried out an illegal search. Ms. Zhang wasn't home at the time. Her husband couldn't stand the pressure from the officials of the Bureau and the 610 Office, and therefore took them to where she was hiding. They arrested Ms. Zhang and sent her to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp. She is currently still in this camp.

On December 11, 2006, the Xiong County Committee and the Xiong County Political and Legal Committee informed all of the government institutions that they had officially fired Ms. Zhang from work. Her family, under tremendous pressure and deceived by the government lies, told Ms. Zhang that the Bureau of Education had given her a raise, in an attempt to persuade her to give up the practice.

The above are only a few examples of how the the Bureau of Education in Xiong County has participated in the persecution of Falun Gong over the past eight years. The Bureau officials continue to order school officials to persecute teachers and students who practice Falun Gong. They often deliver posters that slander Falun Gong to schools in order to poison the students and teachers.

Ms. Liu Yanmei Tormented for a Year, Forced Labor Camp Refuses to Let Her Husband Visit Her

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yanmei from Dagou Village, Puwang Town, Yinan County, Shangdong Province, was arrested in May 2006 when she was distributing pamphlets about Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to three years in Shangdong Forced Labor Camp located in Jinan. News from the labor camp reported that she was seriously tortured. Her family tried to visit her many times but was refused by the camp authorities.

Before Ms. Liu was sent to the Shangdong camp, she had been repeatedly arrested, detained, and physically tortured. At Yinan County Detention Center, the guards used the inhuman "handcuff torture" on her and injected her many times with unknown drugs. At Dawangzhuang Township Brainwashing Center, she was once tortured so badly that she became mentally disordered.

Ms Liu Yanmei is 46 years old. She had poor health since she was young. Later she suffered from emphysema and tuberculosis and her condition had worsened. She needed to rely on intravenous drip and medicines to keep her alive. Four-fifths of the family's yearly income was spent on her medical expenses. In the end, her husband carried her on his back to a Falun Gong practice site and she started to practice Falun Gong. After just a few months' practice, she regained her health and looked as if she were a different person. Her temperament also improved.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin colluded with the Chinese Communist Party to start the persecution of Falun Gong. In order to explain the truth of Falun Gong to the government, Liu Yanmei went to Beijing. She was detained and fined. In Beijing, she was cuffed to an iron chair for 48 hours. Later she was transferred to Yinan Detention Center in Shandong Province. On the way to the detention center, she was handcuffed to the frame of the car, with her hands fixed and her body suspended, her feet not allowed to touch the floor. She fainted from the excruciating pain and was left like this until the next morning.

When she was in Yinan Detention Center, guard Liu Zhijie tortured her brutally. Ms. Liu was forced to stand inside the cell and put both of her arms out through a small window in the door of the cell. Liu Zhijie separated Ms. Liu's arms and then cuffed her hands tightly together. He kept pulling her hands from outside the door. Liu Yanmei couldn't help hitting her head on the metal door when her hands were pulled. She felt faint and dizzy as if the earth was spinning around. The skin on her wrists came off, and the handcuffs dug into her flesh. She was trembled from the unbearable pain. When guard Liu Zhijie saw that Ms. Liu was trying hard not to make a sound, he verbally abused her and pulled the handcuff again, and more blood dripped on the ground. Ms. Liu 's body was covered with blood. Guard Liu Zhijie took off his shoes and started to slap the backs of her hands.

Liu Yanmei was later transferred to Dawangzhuang Township Brainwashing Center. The brutal torture there was even more severe. In the spring of 2000, she was tormented so terribly that she became mentally disordered. After nearly a year, she started to recognize the sky and sun above her head. She started to regain her memory after a year. The cruelty of this persecution can be found in the article " Brutish Acts of Cadre of Former Dawangzhuang Township in Yinan County Shangdong Province" which was published on November 8, 2004 at http://minghui.ca/mh/articles/2004/11/8/88670.html.

On May 23, 2006, Ms. Liu Yanmei and Ms. Du Yonglan, a practitioner from Jinquangou Village (formerly Dougou Village), Puwang Town, Yinan County, were arrested by the police from Hutou Town Local Police Station. The two had been distributing Falun Gong materials. When Liu Yanmei and Du Yonglan were in the detention center, they were both sent to a hospital several times to be injected with unknown drugs, which weakened them considerably. On May 13, 2006, Liu Yanmei was sentenced to three years of forced labor and was transferred to Team 2 of Shangdong No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jinan.

When Ms. Liu was in the camp, her husband went three times in order to visit her, but he was not allowed to see her. On his last visit, the guard roared with rage: "Don't even imagine seeing her if she is not 'transformed.'"

Liu Yanmei became extremely weak after repeated imprisonments, brainwashing, physical torture, and having to do slave labor for a long period of time. The labor camp does not allow the steadfast practitioners to rest at all. Shangdong Jinan Armed Police General Forces Hospital examined Liu Yanmei and found that she was failing fast, so they released her to avoid any responsibility for her death. A health exam at the labor camp before she was admitted showed that Liu Yanmei's health status had been quite good. Since her early release from the labor camp, she has been recovering at home.

Many Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured to Death or to Mental Collapse at Benxi Forced Labor Camp

Since 2000, the Benxi Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province has used various torture techniques against Falun Gong practitioners. As a result, some practitioners have died and many suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and mental disorders as a result of the brutal tortures, which include tying up with ropes or locking practitioners in a small cell (1).

Mr. Bai Jinqi was a practitioner who lived in Gaojiazi Village, Panjin City, Liaoning Province. He was taken to Benxi Forced Labor Camp in mid-August 2006. After he was unjustly imprisoned, he was examined and labeled mentally and physically fit, so he was forced to carry objects up and down the stairs. Guard Liu Shaoshi (male) confined Mr. Bai, subjecting him to both mental and physical torture. Under Liu's orders, 24 hours a day, inmates tried to coerce Mr. Bai into writing the three statements against Falun Gong. He was even badgered while he ate and used the bathroom. Two people always accompanied him. He became seriously ill. He ate very little. Liu kept Mr. Bai under close surveillance for more than five months, until Mr. Bai was bedridden and dying. Mr. Bai's family was then notified and allowed to take him home. Mr. Bai died on February 7, 2007, not long after his release.

Practitioners Mr. Shi Yinchang and Mr. Wang Wenan suffered a similar fate: They were released only when they were on their deathbeds after Benxi Labor Camp guards had tortured them. They both died shortly after their release.

Mr. Gao Dong, a practitioner and technician at the Panjing City Oil Field, suffered from mental disorder after he was tortured for more than seven months in the camp.

Mr. Sun Baoying, a practitioner from the Benxi City Drama Company, became mentally disordered after he was tortured for about six months in Benxi Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Wang Yuzhu is a practitioner from Haiyang County, Shandong Province. On December 10, 2006, guard Liu Shaoshi (male) instructed guards Guo Tieying, Ding Huibo, and Guo Baogang to tie Mr. Wang to a bed and put 55-pound rice sacks on top of each of Mr. Wang's legs for two hours. Liu said maliciously, "I would bury all Falun Gong practitioners alive if I had the authority."

Practitioners Mr. Zhai Mingjun from Changtu County, Mr. Ni Guangmin from Huanren County, Mr. Li Zhimin from the Chaoyang District, and Mr. Cheng Guanghui from the Chaoyang District are currently imprisoned and being tortured in this camp.

    Note:

    (1) The small cell torture: The detainee is locked up alone in a very small cell. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and dark. Detainees have to use a bucket in the cell as a toilet. During the day, detainees are served half of a regular meal . During the night, rats scamper about the cell. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

I Became Disabled in Jiamusi Labor Camp

By Lu Demei from Heilongjiang Province

My name is Lu Demei. I'm a Falun Gong practitioner from Hebei City, Heilongjiang Province. During my illegal detention at Jiamusi Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province, I was partially paralyzed due to torture. I was carried out of the labor camp by my family members.

On January 25, 2005, I clarified the facts about Falun Gong to a person named Liu Lijie. Unexpectedly, Liu reported me to An Hefang, the director of Yuefeng Factory, where I worked. An Hefang immediately called the police station. Tian Gang and two other police officers came and took me to the 610 Office. The head of the 610 Office Guo Shujun sent police officer Zheng Wenshan and others to ransack my home. They took all the Falun Gong books and materials and left a mess. They detained me at the detention center for a month and five days and extorted more than 1000 yuan from my family as what they called "room and board fee." Then they sent me to Heigemu Labor Camp in Jiamusi for two years of forced labor.

In Heigemu Labor Camp, the food and living conditions were horrible. We were only given soup for all meals, with nothing but a few vegetable leaves or chunks of turnip in the soup. One day, I even found a dead mouse in the soup. Besides the horrid living conditions, we were forced to do 10 hours of labor every day. To do the labor, we were forced to sit in a dark, cold workroom for a long time and no one was allowed to move or talk. If one couldn't finish the task, one had to work overtime. The guards would constantly beat and verbally abuse us every day. I was under intense mental and physical disstress for a long time.

My health deteriorated in these circumstances, and as a result, my diabetes came back. On top of that, one side of my body became numb, and others had to support me when I walked. Despite this, the guards didn't allow me to get bed rest. Instead, they ordered two to three people to take me to the workroom every day. Even if I couldn't do any labor, they ordered me to sit on the cold bench all day, and my hands and feet froze.

The team leader Hong Wei thought that I was pretending. One day, while practitioner Ms. Fan Xiaohua was supporting me, Hong Wei pushed her away, grabbed my arm, and shoved me against the wall. When I could not remain standing any longer, Ms. Fan Xiaohua would come and stand by me to support me. The guards didn't allow me to have a medical exam until two days after that. The results showed that my blood sugar level was as high as 18, which resulted my being paralyzed on one side of the body. The guards, though, didn't tell me of the results, nor did they release me. To extort money from my family, they had me take injections and medicine, which didn't work.

In the end, I could not walk whatsoever, even with support. One day, I was lying on the bench in the workroom, and the guard on duty, Zhang Yan, pushed me to the floor and kicked me. To gain the favor of Zhang Yan, inmates Zhang Cuimei and Hu Zhanfen then dragged me to the dining hall. The next day, guard Hong Wei dragged me to the dining hall again. One day when I was reading Master Li's article, guard Li Bo took it away.

I was so sick that I could not take care of myself. Other practitioners had to take care of everything for me, including washing my face, hair, and clothes and helping me use the bathroom. The hospital's diagnosis suggested medical parole, but the labor camp authorities delayed it again and again. They did not release me until my condition became even worse. They also extorted more than 10,000 yuan from my family before allowing them to come get me.

I was carried out of the labor camp by my family members.

The Police from Wanquan County, Hebei Province Abducts Falun Gong Practitioners

Before April 25, 2007, Wang Qi, the deputy chief of the Wanquan County Police Department, Hebei Province, and Jiang Aiguo from the National Security Group led policemen to arrest Falun Gong practitioners in Wanquan Town, Taishi Village of Kongjiazhuang Town, and Jiubao Town. They also illegally searched Falun Gong practitioners' residences and confiscated their' personal belongings.

At about 10:00 p.m. on April 23, 2007, Jiang Aiguo, Zhao Xiuhua (female), Liu Zhiguo and more than twenty other policemen from Wanquan County National Security Group climbed over the wall into practitioner Yue Yongqi's yard, which is located in Wanquan Town of Wanquan County. After that, these policemen arrested practitioners Zhang Fenghua, Cao Ruizhi, and Yue Yongqi, who were reading Falun Gong books in Yue Yongqi's home. In addition, they took Yue Yongqi's color TV, VCD player, several satellite TV receivers, four big satellite dishes, two small satellite dishes, portraits of Master Li, Falun Gong books and MP3 players. For two days in a row, they interrogated Yue Yongqi, who is over 70 years old. On the 25th, they took Yue to Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou. In the afternoon of the 26th, after going through many ordeals, the family members of Zhang Fenghua and Cao Ruizhi were finally able to take these two back home. One thousand yuan was extorted from each family.

At the same time, Liu Zhiguo and some other policemen surrounded Zhao Wanying's home in Wangquan Town of Wanquan County (Zhao Wanying was not home at the time). Zhao Wanying's wife and their daughter were home, so the policemen kept their home surrounded for more than 40 hours. The policemen confiscated Mr. Zhao's copy machine, over 30 cases of printing paper, a paper cutter, copies of the Nine Commentaries, all of his Falun Gong books, one color TV, a VCD, TV satellite receiver, a satellite dish, 3 portraits of Master Li, and CDs that were worth 2,000 yuan. In addition, the policemen also took away Mr. Zhao's wife and his daughter, who are not practitioners, to the county police department. It has been over a week now, and the child is still not allowed to go to school. According to some witnesses, Mr. Zhao's wife suffered a heart attack. Their current whereabouts are not known. The policemen monitored Mr. Zhao's residence for two days, hoping to capture Mr. Zhao and any practitioners who go to his home. The policemen have been camped out inside his home and eating his food.

At around 10 p.m. on April 23, seven people from Kongjiazhuang Police Station of Wanquan County broke into Yan Aiying's residence, confiscated Falun Gong books, materials, and banners that read "Falun Dafa is good." They tore the banners into pieces. When Yan Aiying's husband tried to stop them, the policemen handcuffed him and arrested Yan Aiying. Ms. Yan's current whereabouts are unknown.

That same evening, 12 other practitioners from Jiubao Town, Wanquan County were reading Falun Gong books together in Guo Qi's home. The deputy head of the county police department Wang Qi led more than a dozen policemen from the Criminal Police Team, National Security Team, and Town Police Station in three police vehicles. They went to Guo Qi's home, and broke into and arrested the practitioners. The policemen had forced labor camp cards with them. The policemen carried these cards so that they could send the practitioners to forced labor camps directly. At Guo Qi's home, all the practitioners were body searched, and 800 yuan was taken from the practitioners, as well as two copies of Zhuan Falun, Master's lectures, "Minghui Weekly," and all of their meditation mats. They dragged the practitioners into police vehicles and illegally detained them at the village neighborhood association building. Practitioner Liu Meitao passed out there and only regained consciousness after emergency rescue.

On the same night, practitioner Guo Zhenjun's home was ransacked by the policemen, even though he was not among the group of practitioners who read Falun Gong books together. His personal belongings such as a TV, Falun Gong books, and a satellite receiver and dish were confiscated.

At about 9 a.m. on the 24th, some policemen once again broke into practitioner Zhao Zhiying's home and confiscated a satellite receiver, a TV set, Falun Gong books, and a copy machine. Four practitioners were detained at the village neighborhood association building for an entire day. The policemen intended to take the practitioners away. Because the practitioners used strong righteous thoughts to resist the arrest, the policemen tried to extort money from the practitioners to no avail, and eventually had to let the practitioners go home.

On April 26, practitioner Jia Huiqin from Wanquzn Town went to visit practitioner Wu Xiutao in Xuanpingbao Township. As soon as she came through the door, she was arrested by police from Xuanpingbao Township of Wanquan County. She was detained in an office in the Xuanpingbao Township government building for a day. Her motorcycle was illegally confiscated, and they also took Wu Xiutao's TV set from her home.

The policemen said that they also arrested practitioners from other districts in Wanquan County.

The police in Zhangjiakou had recently decided that because there were a large number of practitioners in Wanquan County, it should be considered a key target location. As a result, Wanquan County established a "special case team," which collected some special police manpower who hid at the surrounding area of practitioners' homes. They also posted materials that slandered Falun Gong. On the evening of April 23, the police force throughout Wanquan County plotted a massive arrest of Falun Gong practitioners. Some villagers said that a few days earlier, some policemen dressed up as street vendors and went around practitioners' residential areas to check to see if there were satellite receivers and dishes.

Mr. Wang Mingcai Arrested While His Son Is Imprisoned

[Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the minghui.ca website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]

Mr. Wang Mingcai is a practitioner from Honghua Township in Tancheng County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. On April 18, 2007, the Xinyi City 610 Office arrested Mr. Wang while he was distributing Falun Gong materials in Xinyi City. He is currently being detained in the Hedong Detention Center in Xinyi City. Mr. Wang's arm was broken during one of the beatings that he endured.

Mr. Wang's son is also a Falun Gong practitioner. Several years ago, the 610 Office in Xinyi City arrested him and sentenced him to five years in prison. He is currently being detained in a prison at Weishan Lake.

Mr. Wang's wife suffers from psychosis and has been unable to take care of herself for years. Mr. Wang is responsible for taking care of her, but is now unable to do that.

Not too long ago, Mr. Sun Jinhao, an employee of the People's Hospital of Xinyi City, was arrested when he was distributing Falun Gong materials in Mohe Development Zone, Xinyi City. Mr. Sun is currently detained in Hedong Detention Center.
