At the end of his long sentence Mr. Zhao is transferred to a detention center rather than released, despite the needs of his family.
Earlier publicized reports of abuses at this camp lead to further repression.
Mr. Zhao Xun Imprisoned for Eight Years--610 Office Plots to Continue Persecuting Him
Mr. Zhao Xun, 40, is a practitioner from Hubei Province. He was employed at the headquarters of China Yangtze River Sanxia, Inc. After he began practicing Falun Dafa in June 1994, he regained his physical and mental health. Mr. Zhao had a reputation for being hard-working, kind, and helpful, which earned him the admiration and respect of his supervisor and co-workers.
Once the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Dafa in 1999, Mr. Zhao was persecuted as well. He was steadfast in his belief and he clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to others. As a result, he was arrested under orders from the CCP 610 Office on April 18, 2001. Later, a CCP court sentenced him to eight years in prison. In 2002, he was taken to Section 5 of Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City, Hubei Province.
Mr. Zhao did not cooperate with those in charge while he was in prison, and the guards retaliated by brutally mistreating him. They made him work in an unsafe brick kiln and forced him to stack bricks while they were still red hot. Mr. Zhao's sentence recently expired, but the staff of the Hubei Province 610 Office deceived him and took him to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Center instead of releasing him. They have been unsuccessful, however, in their attempt to force him to give up his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Mr. Zhao had a lovely family, but the persecution placed great pressure on them. His wife divorced him, and Mr. Zhao was given custody of his daughter. At first, Mr. Zhao's parents cared for her while he was in prison. But in recent years, Mr. Zhao's aging father became unable to walk, and his mother was barely able to take care of herself. Consequently, Mr. Zhao's daughter, who is about 10 years old, is now being cared for by her uncle.

The Clearwisdom website reported on the persecution of practitioners from Xing'an League of Inner Mongolia and Tumuji Forced Labor Camp on February 24, 2009. The practitioners there tried to resist being forced to work overtime to make handmade carpets for export.
The job of making carpets is 7 days a week. Except for Sunday night, the practitioners have to work overtime until 8:30 p.m. every night. This year, the overtime has been extended to 10 or even 11p.m.. They don't have time to wash their clothes. The workshop where the carpets are made is very dusty, which makes it difficult to breathe. If anyone refuses to work, he or she is immediately punched, kicked, and electrically shocked. The person will be threatened with an extended sentence.
After the brutal persecution against practitioners at the labor camp was exposed on Clearwisdom.net, the labor camp received many letters and faxes from practitioners to clarify the truth. The abusers' names were also exposed on the Clearwisdom website. Since then, the labor camp has cut off all the practitioners' connections to the outside world, including incoming letters and phone calls.
On February 26, 2009, practitioners started to resist the excessive hard labor. In the afternoon, guard Chen Qiang (ID No. 1519074) from the 2nd Squadron called practitioner Mr. Song Zhiyu to the office. Chen Qiang started to curse Mr. Song immediately after Mr. Song stepped into the office. He threw the truth clarification letters in Mr. Song's face. Chen Qiang jumped up from his chair and slapped Mr. Song twice in the face, accusing Mr. Song of being the "leader." Chen said he could use violence to abuse Mr. Song anytime. Another guard, Huang Zigang, the leader of the 2nd Squadron (ID No. 1519096), also beat Mr. Song. Huang also abused another practitioner, Mr. Wang Zhanqing. Huang Zigang beat inmates almost every day. After Chen Qiang slapped Mr. Song twice, Huang Zigang punched Mr. Song's chest many times. He said that if Mr. Song did not agree to work overtime, he would continue to beat him. Guard Huang Zigang: 86-13948287582 (Cell), 86-482-6710474
On February 27, 2009, practitioner Mr. Song Zhiyu was handcuffed behind his back against the 4th floor water pipe by guard Chen Qiang for over 10 hours. Practitioners Mr. Ma You, Mr. Wu Nanjie, Mr. Lin Wenhui, Mr. Wang Zhanqing, Mr. Li Jianqing, and many others stopped working to protest. The guards in charge of the male inmates, including Group Leader Wang Liwei (ID No. 1519069), Huang Zigang and other guards, beat the practitioners brutally. The guards used rubber and electric batons to beat the practitioners until they fell to the ground. They later locked them up in small detention cells.
