Ms. Song Chang was forced to have an abortion by the police. Within twenty days, Ms. Song was arrested again and tortured in a detention center. Now she is facing a trial by the CCP court.
During the CCP's "two conferences" period, the police ransacked Ms. He's house with a blank search warrant, and then arrested her for her keeping Falun Gong materials at home. On March 16, 2009 she was sentenced to three years of forced labor.
Ms. Song Chang Forced to Have an Abortion
The CCP court in Shashi District, Jinzhou City, Hubei Province held an illegal trial on the morning of March 18, 2009, for 29 year old Ms. Song Chang. On the morning of July 17, 2008, Ms. Song had followed her husband to work in Guangdong Province and was arrested by police from Hubei Province. She was taken back to Shashi District, forced to have an abortion and detained in Shashi Detention Center.
Ms. Song Chang is from Lixin County, Hubei Province. She practices Falun Gong, and has been arrested and detained many times since the persecution began in 1999. Throughout the year, during any CCP political event, whether Ms. Song was at work or at home, the county police would arrest her using no legal procedures. She would be detained and released after the sensitive events were over.
On the night of July 4, 2008, using the excuse of checking on temporary residents, the police from Shunde City Police Department broke down the door of the couple's home. They found Ms. Song making DVDs. After asking a few questions, they arrested the couple. After discovering that Ms. Song was 3 months pregnant, the next day they informed her cousin to bail her out with 5000 yuan. During the following days, Ms. Song continued requesting her husband's release. The police department not only refused to release her husband, they tricked Ms. Song by telling her that her husband would be released the following day and that she could come to the police department to get him. The next day, immediately after Ms. Song Chang arrived at the police department, she was arrested by Li Zhenggang and others from the District Domestic Security Team, then taken back to Shashi District. They forcibly took Ms. Song to the local Women and Children's Health and Medical Center. Without informing any of her family members or obtaining any consent, the CCP officers forced her to have the abortion.
After the forced abortion, Ms. Song did not want to eat. The guards informed her family about her situation and they took her home. However within twenty days, Ms. Song was arrested again and tortured in the detention center. In the detention center, her daily meal was plain soup with some yellowing vegetable leaves; all the food provided there was of very poor quality. The abortion left this once healthy young woman very thin and weak. The poor diet in the detention center has caused her to become sick and she remains in this condition at the detention center today.

Ms. He Wen from Beijing Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
Around 3:00 p.m. on February 26, 2009, the police from Yutan Station in Xicheng (West Town) District, Beijing City and the 610 Office broke into the home of 59-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. He Wen, and ransacked it. When Falun Gong materials were found, she was arrested at 6 p.m. and detained in the Pre-trial Division of Qinghe Jail. For refusing to renounce her belief, on March 16, 2009 she was sentenced to three years of forced labor by the Forced Labor Committee of Beijing City.
In the past, Ms. He suffered from bronchitis, hypertension, and she had a herniated disc. After beginning to practice Falun Gong her condition rapidly improved. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. He has gone to Tiananmen Square many times to appeal.
Ms. He was imprisoned at the Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp from 2000 to 2002. She was tormented by the prison guards and inmates. Because she held steadfast in her belief, she was taken to the "intensive training" team and put in solitary confinement. To resist the persecution, Ms. He and another practitioner went on hunger strikes, which lasted an entire year. Then she was released and went home. Between 2000 and 2008, she was arrested, detained, and put in a forced labor camp several times for distributing fliers and informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
In 2008, the CCP used the Olympics as an excuse to put Ms. He under house arrest. She was not allowed to go out, and she was monitored by security personnel around the clock.
During the time that the CCP "two conferences" were held in 2009, the police in the Beijing area arrested practitioners on a large scale. At 3:00 p.m. on February 26, the person in charge of the brainwashing classes for the Beijing area came to Ms. He's home. The agent tried to get her to open the door by claiming that he was there to have her sign up for a study class. When Ms. He refused the let them in, police officer Xu Tao, and others got a locksmith to open the security door and ransacked Ms. He's house. The police did not show any identification and the family members were unable to stop them. When the family members asked the police to show some identification and a search warrant, they were shown a blank warrant. No names or reason for the search were recorded. At 6:00 p.m., after they had finished ransacking the house, the police forced Ms. He to go with them. She called out "Falun Dafa is good!" to let the neighbors know that she was being persecuted.
