Practitioner Ms. Wang Yueying, 56, lived in Group 1, Maogou Village, Yongfeng Town, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, Gansu Province. In February 1999, she took up Falun Dafa and obtained complete health through the practice. She went to Beijing to appeal on November 11, 2000 to say, "Falun Dafa is good." She was arrested and detained at the Beijing Police Department. Police officers from Wuwei City took her back to that city on November 26. She was then held at the Heping Detention Center. The guards at the detention center ordered the inmates to beat and humiliate her. They stabbed the back of her hands with needles, forced her to work, to carry other inmates around, and to clean up. Wang Yueying also had 200 yuan in cash extorted from her. After more than one month of torture she was sent to a brainwashing class. On Chinese New Year's Eve, the persecutors forced all female practitioners to take a cold shower, including women in their 60s. Wang Yueying was held at this brainwashing class for six months. She suffered a relapse of her old illness due to the long-term persecution and intimidation. She could not eat for six days. The police sent her to a hospital for an IV infusion and injections, and extorted 300 yuan from her family. She was released before the fall harvest season in 2001. Officers from the local police station and the township government continued to monitor and intimidate her. She passed away on March 20, 2002.
