A Letter from An Australian Practitioner in Jail to Her Husband

XX:

I never expected to spend more than three unforgettable months in jail. You must be having a hard time, since you have to take care of both your work and our daughter. I still dont know how long I will be held here, but I dont care. I feel honored, as a disciple of our Teacher, to be able to do something for Falun Dafa. The only thing I feel sorry about is that you have to suffer more.

I have been on a hunger strike for more than 50 days. It is really a rare opportunity to remove layers upon layers of my attachments. Since there is nothing much to do here, I practice the sitting meditation for over 10 hours every day. I am now the only person practicing Falun Gong in the whole prison. I have bravely confronted and dealt properly with all the police here, one by one, from the director to the prison guards. At the beginning, we practiced Falun Gong exercises secretly. When the prison guards came over, we would stop. Later, when all the other practitioners left, I was here alone. I thought to myself, it is such a great law, but I practice it secretly. I really let our Teacher down. So I started to practice Falun Gong exercises openly and honorably. Immediately, they abused me physically, including beating, swearing, throwing lunch-boxes at me, pouring water on me, and pulling my hair, etc. The director of the prison threatened that if I continued to practice, he would put me on handcuffs and shackles, and inflict more harsh punishment on me by making up evidence against me. My heart was not moved by any means. Instead, the more they abused me, the more determined I became in defending and promoting Falun Dafa with uprightness and dignity. After one months efforts, they no longer interfere when watching me practice. They have finally retreated.

The consul of Australia is really kind. He came to visit us, again. He has done a lot for us, but it is the police from Beijing and Luo Gan who interrogate us. What I have done, actually, is extremely simple. I feel I havent met the expectations of our Teacher

My mother must be back in Shanghai now. If you are free, give her a call and let her know my current situation. Besides, tell her not to worry about me and that everything is fine with me. Moreover, tell Bella to make time to read Zhuan Falun again. When she finishes, I will be back and pick her up and take her to school every day.

If time permits, make a call to the consul and express our appreciation of his help.

I may not be able to go back to Australia, please take good care of yourself and Bella. Life in prison is like a cultivation furnace. Some people have never had the experience, and others have gone through it in a hurry without cherishing it. In fact, there are considerable subtleties involved. One can only be enlightened to but can not explain it clearly with words.

Note: Since last July 20, in order to support the Mainland practitioners for safeguarding Falun Dafa, Australian practitioner Zhang Cuiying and some other practitioners from Sydney went to stage sits-in in front of the Chinese Consulate every day in all weather conditions. They continuously did this for more than five months until Ms. Zhang decided to go back to China to defend the Fa. (At present, there are still a few elderly practitioners who go to the Chinese Consulate to stage sits-in, holding the Falun Dafa banners. They have been there for nearly one year.) Ms. Zhang Cuiying is at the top of the black list of Falun Gong practitioners of the Chinese Consulate in Sydney, and this is probably why she hasnt been released after being held for more than three months in China.)
