OTTAWA -- A letter writing campaign to the Prime Minister has gained tremendous support from Members of Parliament from all parties. 20 MP's have now written the Prime Minister asking him to bring forth a motion condemning China's persecution of Falun Gong.

"The Chinese government is openly pursuing a policy of eradication of Falun Gong by imprisoning, torturing and even murdering those who practice it", wrote Mr. Anders in his letter calling for all MP's to write to the Prime Minister.

"The Canadian government should take a leading role to speak out for justice and the protection ofáreligious freedom. We ask you to initiate a resolution to condemn China's treatment of the followers of Falun Gong at the UNCHR", states the cosigned letter, from the twenty Members of Parliament to the Prime Minister.

The United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) will convene on March 17, 2003 in Geneva.
