(Clearwisdom.net) On May 11, 2007, the Board of Alderman of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, passed a resolution which proclaimed May 13, 2007 as "Falun Dafa Day" Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. At the beginning of the Board meeting, Honorable Lewis Reed, President, presented a copy of the resolution to Falun Gong practitioners and invited practitioners to introduce Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Falun Dafa Day
Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners are joyously celebrating The 8th Annual World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2007, with festivals and events to be held across the United States and worldwide; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise and meditation practice of mind, body, and spirit based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and
Whereas, more men and women of the United States are learning the practice and purifying their hearts, energizing their bodies and striving to create virtuous communities; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa's contribution to society has been widely recognized and honored around the world since Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced it to the public in 1992; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries and contributes to the universal dream of a peaceful, tolerance, and more compassionate society; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners' determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party has shown the world the virtue of life and the preciousness of human dignity;
Now, therefore, Be it Resolved by the Board of Alderman of the City of St. Louis, that we pause in our deliberations to proclaim May 13, 2007 as "Falun Dafa Day" Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. We further direct the Clerk of the Board to spread a copy of the Resolution across the minutes of Free proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy for presentation to our honored at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
