The International Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition was held at the Atrium in Federation Square in Melbourne from February 5 to 12, 2010. The paintings are works by artists from around the world depicting the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and their peaceful and rational resistance.

The stories told in the paintings are moving and real. They express respect for Falun Gong practitioners' non-violent resistance and their benevolent hearts.

Falun Dafa Association spokesperson Kati Vereshaka gave a speech at the opening ceremony and read a congratulatory letter from Jenny Mikakos, Member of the Parliament of Victoria. Ms. Mikakos encouraged the people in Australia to participate in the protection of human rights. She also welcomed the exhibition.

Brian Smith lived in Box Hill and practitioners did their daily exercises at a place close to his home. "I know Falun Gong very well and support it. I help practitioners when they have activities." Mr. Smith said that his favorite painting was "Coming For You." "The Western practitioners depicted look so peaceful and kind."

Judith from Queensland thought the paintings were terrific. "Though they make me feel sad, they are powerful." Her favorite was "Orphan's Tears." She cried when she saw it and said, "It is so beautiful."

Gisela from Germany loved "Spring in Ancient Town," "Righteous Thoughts and Actions," and "The Pure Lotus." "I love them because they are traditional Chinese paintings and they look amazing."

A Western observer liked "Studying the Fa" because it gave him a feeling of wellbeing.

Photographer Xu said that it was unfortunate that these paintings were not allowed in China. "If they could be shown in China, they would all be the first-class paintings."

Athena told the reporter that she personally knew stories of Falun Gong practitioners who had emigrated to Australia. "They should be free to do what they want to do and to have freedom of belief."

Grace came from China. She loved the painting "Orphan's Tears." "It looks so real. Every time I look at the child's eyes up close, I cry."

Jenny also came from China. She saw truth and beauty in the paintings that looked authentic and artistic. "Every pair of eyes seems to be able to speak to me. They left me speechless."
