(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Chen Yufang, a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested by the Xingning City 610 Office while she was selling vegetables on Dongyuegong Street. After she was detained, first in the Xingning City Police Station and then in the Xingning City Detention Center for 45 days, she was transferred again, on November 8 2007, to Guangdong Women's Forced Labor Camp for an additional year.

During her detention in the Guangdong camp, Ms. Chen was tortured severely, both physically and mentally, by the guards. According to informed sources, in order to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, camp officials made the cafeteria workers add toxic drugs to the practitioners' food. The poison was designed to destroy the central nervous system. After they ate, many practitioners had unusual symptoms such as swelling, withering of the limbs and body, deformities, confusion, memory lapses, vomiting, dizziness, and fainting spells.

In January 2008, Ms. Chen was brutally tortured when she shouted "Falun Dafa is good" and exposed the fact that poison was being added to the food in the dining room. On October 28, 2009, when the forced labor camp was having a sports meet, she shouted on the sports field, "Stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners" and asked labor camp management personnel to find out how practitioners were being persecuted. Management put her into solitary confinement for the second time.

When Ms. Chen's term was scheduled to end, it was extended for more than a month.

Ms. Chen Yufang has been detained and persecuted many times. In January 2001, she was arrested at Tiananmen Square in Beijing and was tortured in the Xuanwu District Police Station. The weather was extremely cold that night, but the police forced her to stay outside for almost two hours. A few days later, Ms. Chen was taken back to Xingning City in Guangdong Province, where, two weeks later, she was taken to Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp for a two-year sentence.

In Guangdong Province, in order to dodge their superiors' inspections in 2008 and 2009, the Women's Forced Labor Camp transferred the detained practitioners from the Third Division to the Second Division. In October 2009, a partial list of detained practitioners included the following practitioners: Luo Jinrong (Meizhou), Jin Ying (Zhanjiang, age 50), Li Jianying (Gaozhou, age 50), Chen Meiling, Li Hongying, Gong Xuejun, and Yang Bin.
