(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Yaru was arrested by police officers from the Forestry Public Security Bureau in April 2008, and sent to a detention center. While she was detained, the company she worked for unjustly fired her and her husband divorced her. He was afraid of being targeted for persecution due to his wife's beliefs, since he also works at the Bureau of Forestry.

Ms. Li was later illegally sentenced to a three-year prison term at Heilongjiang Women's Prison, where she was forced to do heavy labor from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. without a lunch break.

After consistent, daily torture, Ms. Li lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital. She was diagnosed with leukemia. To avoid responsibility, the prison authorities allowed her family to take her home. She passed away soon after being released.

Ms. Li comes from a good family and was kind to everyone. She willingly helped others in the prison, while keeping her tears hidden. Her daughter is still in Japan studying. Her husband, who is not a practitioner, visited her a few times in prison. Although he knew that Dafa was good, he still chose to divorce her to avoid being persecuted. A good family has been torn apart and destroyed in the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Li's parents, relatives, friends, and fellow practitioners still remember her kindness and tolerance.
