(Minghui.org) Mr. Jiang Luguang and several other Falun Gong practitioners from Yantai City in Shandong Province tapped into the local cable network in Weihai City in 2002 to broadcast programs that exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Jiang from Shengjinbo Village, Yantai City, Shandong Province, was arrested in January 2003 and was illegally sentenced to 20 years in prison. The other practitioners who were involved were also arrested and sentenced.

Mr. Jiang Luguang’s parents were often monitored and harassed by the authorities. Zhang Kelian, the Party secretary of Shengjinbo Village, ordered Li Peicheng and other officers from the Buxitou Police Station to monitor them in an attempt to arrest Mr. Jiang.

Elderly Parents Persecuted and Illegally Detained

Mr. Jiang Yuanbo and his wife

Mr. Jiang Yuanbo, Mr. Jiang Luguang’s father, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on January 13, 2002. He was arrested and sentenced to three years at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City.

Mr. Jiang’s mother was also taken into custody in 2002. Li Peicheng arrested her while she was working on the farm. She was taken to the Mouping County Party School [Party schools are used to train officials for the CCP], and was subjected to brainwashing sessions for 20 days. The police kept monitoring and harassing her after her release. They often broke into her house at night and ransacked it. She was under extreme pressure and had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Jiang Yuanbo was released in October 2003, only to find that his wife and son were not at home. He found a notice stating that his son had been sentenced to a 20-year term. This was a tremendous mental and emotional blow for him. His health gradually deteriorated and he passed away in 2009.

With her family torn apart by the persecution, Mr. Jiang’s mother became very thin and weak. But she firmly says, “The persecution will surely end one day and I will be reunited with my son.”

Mr. Jiang Luguang Forced to Leave Home

When the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, practitioners were deprived of their right to practice, and the media was used to defame the practice.

Mr. Jiang was forced to leave home because Zhang Kelian, the village Party secretary, wanted to arrest him. He went to Weihai City and found a job. He worked hard and had a successful career, following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in his daily life.

Family Benefits from Practicing Falun Gong

Mr. Jiang Luguang started practicing Falun Gong in 1993 when he went to work in Weihai City. He left school at the age of 17 and went to Weihai, as he needed the money to support his parents who were both in poor health, suffering from long-term illnesses.

Wonderful changes occurred in Mr. Jiang's mind and body after he started the practice, and he thought that his parents could also benefit from Falun Gong if they learned the practice. When he returned home he taught them the exercises.

Mr. Jiang's parents’ illnesses disappeared soon after they started practicing, and they became very healthy and happy. The amazing news quickly spread through the village, and many people came to learn Falun Gong. Their yard was often filled with 50 to 60 villagers practicing the exercises.
