Firmly Resisting the Persecution, Released from Detention in Three Days

February 09, 2015 |   By practitioner Zheng Ruyi in China

(Minghui.org) I am a relatively new Falun Gong practitioner, since I began practicing on January 1, 2010.

Once another new practitioner and I distributed literature about Falun Gong on a college campus. The college security spotted us and took us to the local police station. We were then sent to a detention center and a hospital.

We turned the tables on the persecutors and told everyone we encountered in the process about Falun Gong. We were released in three days.

Learning Falun Gong in Prison

I was wrongly convicted and taken to a detention center in 2008. It was lucky for me that there were two practitioners in every cell.

One of the practitioners was in her mid 30s, but looked much younger than I did. She seemed very friendly and easygoing. I felt she was like my older sister, so I told her my story.

We talked whenever we had an opportunity, and she told me her story and all about Falun Gong. My favorite stories were those about Falun Gong, which touched my heart. I thought that this was the cultivation practice I had been looking for. She encouraged me to recite “Falun Gong is good, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” which I did countless times.

I learned to sit in the meditation position and how to send forth righteous thoughts. I even saw one super strong beam of light shoot from my forehead out toward a faraway place when sending righteous thoughts. The light exploded and I opened my eyes immediately. I thought that I had a great imagination. I did not tell anyone about that, but realized later that my third eye opened even before I began to cultivate.

I was detained for 37 days, during which time I decided to practice Falun Gong. After making my decision, I dreamed that 18 divine beings smiled at me. Several days later I was released on bail.

I bought Zhuan Falun, the main book of the practice, and finished reading it in one night, and thus began my cultivation in Falun Gong.

Arrested

Another new practitioner (whom I will call “Ms. Dan”) in my Fa-study group had begun practicing Falun Gong less than a year before. She used every opportunity to talk with practitioners and read articles on the Minghui website. Thus, she improved very quickly and I saw the gap between us.

She and I went to a local college to distribute Falun Gong materials at the end of July 2014.

Patrolling security personnel saw us distributing the materials and took us to the security office. When searching our bags, they found the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party DVDs and Falun Gong materials, so they called the police.

It did not take long for them to show up, and they forced us into a police car. I was afraid for a while and then thought that we should not cooperate. I held Ms. Dan’s hand and said very loudly, “We did nothing wrong, so we won’t get into the car.” As students were watching, the police pushed us into the car.

Resisting All Forms of Persecution

We arrived at the police station around noon. We refused to sign anything or give any personal information. Ms. Dan told them that they would commit a sin if they forced us to sign anything. Then they wanted to take our photos. Again, we refused to cooperate, so they gave up.

Then, one officer pushed me to the ground and kicked me. But I did not feel any pain and held no fear.

Ms. Dan reprimanded him, “How could you hit her? You should not treat her like that.” They then hit Ms. Dan. We were both handcuffed. We sat down and recited Lunyu from Zhuan Falun. Then, we looked within to find what attachments we might have that brought about this interference.

The police tried a different tactic the next day. They sought to obtain our personal information, but we refused again.

We kept sending forth righteous thoughts. We came to understand that the police needed to hear the truth about Falun Gong.

The police threatened that if we still refused to provide our personal information, we would be detained forever. I thought that what he said counted for nothing because we had Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, beside us.

The officer said that practicing Falun Gong is against the law, so I asked him to show me the official documents detailing that law.

We were taken to the detention center that evening. I held a firm thought that the detention would not dare to accept us. The second I finished thinking that way, the detention center in fact refused to accept us. We were taken back to the police station.

They tried to get my fingerprints and I again refused to cooperate. Then the doctors came to give us a physical examination. We refused and told them about the organ harvesting crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The authorities seemed frustrated and the police station head said, “Get them out of here quickly.” I was then shackled and taken back to the detention center.

Even a detention center official said, “This is so troublesome. Why should I have to deal with this?” We had been on a hunger strike for two days. They were afraid to take responsibility, so they decided to take us to a hospital.

Lesson Learned

They wanted to do physical examinations at the hospital.

At first, I agreed to have my blood pressure taken, but then I realized that I should not have. After the measurements, I had no energy and could not hold up my palms to send forth righteous thoughts. That was not a good sign.

I said to Master in my mind, “Master, I did wrong. I will not cooperate with anyone here for anything. Please help me.”

I began to practice the exercises. While holding the wheel, both of my hands felt heavy and I felt no energy. But I managed to finish doing the entire set of exercises. Then I felt Master taking care of me, and I felt energy again when I sent righteous thoughts.

I felt what Master said:

“When disciples have ample righteous thoughtsMaster has the power to turn back the tide”(“The Master-Disciple Bond” in Hong Yin Vol II, Version A)

It all ended quickly. The detention center and the police station personnel completed their paperwork and then released us within three days of being arrested.

Looking back on this experience, I sense the seriousness of cultivating oneself in that environment. Any human notions or shortcomings had to be eliminated. Thanks to my solid cultivation state, I overcame this tribulation with relative ease. At critical moments I remembered Master’s Fa teachings, which enabled me to resist the ordeal.
