July 10, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Hong, 37, from Weihai City, Shandong Province, will be tried on July 12, 2015, according to an indictment issued by the Wendeng District Court on July 2.

A court officer threatened to have Ms. Liu's brother dismissed from his job if she did not attend the trial, and demanded that her brother be the warrantor for her presentation.

Ms. Liu was arrested on January 9, 2015 for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was later illegally detained by the Wendeng District Domestic Security Division.

Ms. Liu held a hunger strike to protest her abuse at the hands of police. She was released on bail pending trial on February 4, when she was on the brink of death.

After her release, officers from the Wendeng District Domestic Security Division harassed her and her family several times, with threats similar to those of the court officer.
