Family Members Pressure Falun Gong Practitioner to Renounce His Belief

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hu Qinggui from Guandao Township in the Fangshan District of Beijing was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Fangshan District Court in 2015. He is now being held in Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang, Hubei Province.

Mr. Hu's mother went to visit him on August 16, 2016, and saw that he had become emaciated. Afterwards, police officer Gao visited her at home and told her to persuade Mr. Hu to renounce Falun Gong.

Mr. Hu's mother, sister, and brother-in-law visited him again on October 6, 2016, and tried to pressure him into renouncing his belief, but he refused. The guards then threatened that they would send him directly to a brainwashing center after serving his term.

Background

Mr. Hu is originally from Sanzhou Village in Bailizhou Town, Zhijiang City, Hubei Province. He lived in Beijing after he graduated from college, and later married Ms. Tian Yajun from Guandao Township, Fangshan District, Beijing.

Mr. Hu was held in a forced labor camp for two years in September 2009. He was arrested again in Chengguan Town by officers from the Fangshan District Police Department on February 26, 2014. The Fangshan District Court later sentenced him to a three-year prison term. He was held in Tianhe Prison in the Daxing District of Beijing for more than a year before being transferred to Caidian Prison in Hubei Province on June 27, 2016. He was transferred again to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang on July 8, 2016.
