(Minghui.org) I participated in a local group that went out every week to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong). We covered areas that were within a two hour drive from the city center. We talked with people and distributed Dafa informational materials.

We went to a new place one day, which was about a one-hour drive from the city, to talk with people about Falun Gong. We split into two groups and went from house to house. I saw a man sitting on the front steps of a house and handed him a Falun Dafa brochure. I said, “Hello brother. I would like to give you a brochure that describes how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) pretends to be against corruption, but is actually very corrupt and misrepresents the economy of the country.”

He didn't seem to understand me. I continued, “Do you remember the fake vaccine incident last year? The CCP showed no mercy to the Chinese people and did bad things that harmed them.”

He shook his head and whispered, “I was just released from spending 20 years (in prison).” I realized that he must have committed a felony.

I told him, “It is OK. The true criminals are the CCP officials. They persecute the Buddha Law, commit enormous crimes, and force people to do bad things. The heavens will surely eliminate the Party, so people should quit the CCP and its youth organizations for their own safety.”

He told me he was a Young Pioneer. I encouraged him to withdraw and he agreed. We chatted casually and he told me his name. I suddenly felt I had met him in the past. He said it was impossible since he had been in prison for 20 years.

He asked me, “What is the brochure about?”

I said, “Falun Gong. It tells people about the importance of following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. We want all people to learn the truth.”

He said, “Oh, you talk about Falun Gong. I practiced Falun Gong before.” He then started to recite the verse we say before doing the fifth exercise (a sitting meditation), “Reinforcing Supernatural Powers.”

I then remembered that I had met him in a detention center 20 years ago. I asked him, “Who taught you this? What was his last name?”

He then said my name. I said to him excitedly, “Brother, that was me. That is not my last name, it's actually my first name, a very unique name.”

Two other practitioners then came looking for me, and I happily introduced them to the man and told them he still remembered the exercise verse I taught him 20 years ago.

I met him in 1999 when the CCP had just started persecuting Falun Gong. I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. I was arrested and held at the local detention center. I remembered he was an aggressive prisoner who always beat other prisoners. But he never hit me.

I recalled that one cold winter, there were fleas in our prison cell. In the end, I was identified as the source. He asked me to take off my clothes, and picked off and killed the fleas. He said, “If it were not you, I would strip his skin off.”

He never gave me a hard time. Another time, I practiced the exercises in the bathroom. He saw me and did not say anything, nor report me to the prison officials.

He was interested in Falun Gong and asked me to teach him the exercises. It was hard to do the exercises in the prison, so I often sat and did just the meditation. One time we were together for the night watch and I told him the verse we say before beginning the sitting meditation, the fifth exercise. I didn't expect that Master would help him remember the verse for 20 years.

I also never expected that we would meet again 20 years later and renew our predestined relationship. Later, I went to his home to deliver a copy of the book Zhuan Falun that he asked for.

I was impressed that he could fluently recite the verse I had taught him 20 years prior. I deeply feel that Master won't leave behind any predestined person, and that Master remembers everyone in this world. As a Dafa practitioner, this encourages me to let go of all my attachments, double my efforts to cultivate well, and steadily walk the final path of helping Master rectify the Fa.
