1. [Shanghai] Ms. Pei Shanzhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Pei Shanzhen from Jing’an District was tried at a branch of the Jing’an District Court, and given a three-and-a-half-year prison term on the morning of December 10, 2019.

2. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhao Guichun Abused; Two Other Practitioners’ Cases Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Zhao Guichun from Yuanbaoshan District was severely abused in Hohhot Women's Prison. Yue Tingting, the No. 5 Ward supervisor, under the excuse of Ms. Zhao not taking medicine, told four or five young, large people to punch and kick her.

Ms. Sun Xiuhua and Ms. Shan Baoqin. who were arrested by officers from Erlong Police Station, Ningcheng County, are still being held in custody. Their cases were turned over to the Procuratorate.

3. [Beijing] Mr. Yang Zhanming and Wife Ms. Wu Yao Persecuted

Mr. Yang Zhanming, 80, is a retired senior engineer from the Beijing Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics. He was harassed, detained on numerous occasions, and his home was ransacked many times for his perseverance in practicing Falun Gong. His wife Ms. Wu Yao passed away on June 22, 2003, as a result of being persecuted.

Officers, including Gao Jing from Huayuanlu Police Station, ransacked Mr. Yang’s home on April 13, 2019, and confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books, among other items.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Bing Tried

Ms. Liu Bing was tried on December 10, 2019. She was held in Jilin City Detention Center for 143 days. She has been in poor health. Her eyesight deteriorated. Her legs and feet are swollen. Still she has to do slave labor every day.

5. [Nanbu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jing Huiling Tried

Ms. Jing Huiling was reported and arrested for distributing information about Falun Gong on a bus. She was held in custody. She was tried twice by the local court on November 7 and November 28, 2019.

6. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Chunxiong and Four Other Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wu Chunxiong from Jiexi County was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Dongsheng Police Station on May 22, 2017. Mr. Wu Xuqin (an employee at Mr. Wu Chunxiong’s company) and his mother Ms. Chen Xiaobin were also arrested.

Mr. Wu Xuqin, Ms. Chen, Mr. Wu Chunxiong, Ms. Cai Linhua, and Ms. Tang Jianqun were tried by the Rongcheng District Court on March 19, 2019.

In May 2019, Mr. Wu Chungxiong was given an eight-year-and-six-month prison term, Ms. Tang an eight-year term, Mr. Wu Xuqin a seven-year-and-six-month prison term. Ms. Chen and Ms. Cai were each given a two-year-and-six-month prison term. They were also fined. The five practitioners appealed to Jieyang City Intermediate Court.

At the end of October 2019, the intermediate court upheld their verdicts. Mr. Wu Chunxiong and Mr. Wu Xuqin were taken to Sihui Prison. Ms. Tang (from Xi’an City in Shannxi Province) was taken to Guangdong Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Chen and Ms. Cai, who had finished their prison terms, were released on November 21, 2019.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Donglan and Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Donglan and other practitioners from Luanzhou City were reported and arrested by officers from Angezhuang Police Station on December 1, 2019. They were taken to the Luanzhou City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

8. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yuehong Placed Under Criminal Detention

Ms. Zhang Yuehong was monitored, followed and arrested by officers from Liulinqiao Police Station on December 7, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials at Liulinqiao Residential Community. She was placed under criminal detention and held in Handan City No. 3 Detention Center.

9. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Dong Xiangru Under Residential Surveillance

Ms. Dong Xiangru retired from Department of Natural Resources of Zhejiang Province. She received collection notices from several people recently, including a notice on November 8, 2019, from a deputy chief of the Personnel Department of the company she retired from. She was told to return her 368,599.00 yuan pension she received between October 2014 and February 2019. She currently lives under residential surveillance.

Ms. Dong was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on March 1, 2007, and released on October 24, 2008. She was sentenced to prison the second time on October 11, 2018. She was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term and fined 20,000 yuan.

10. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Cuihua and Ms. Liu Fengzhen Arrested

Ms. Chen Cuihua and Ms. Liu Fengzhen were reported and arrested by officers from the Huayan Police Station on the morning of December 11, 2019. Ms. Liu was released that day, and Ms. Chen was detained for 10 days.

Mr. Liu Liankun from Beichen District was arrested on July 30, 2019. He is scheduled to be tried on December 14 by Beichen District Court. Mr. Liu’s family have been denied any visits to him since his arrest despite their repeated requests.

12. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Shuqin and Ms. Tang Fengying Arrested

Ms. Sun Shuqin and Ms. Tang Fengying from Hongtoushan Town were arrested by officers from Nanzamu Police Station when they distributed desktop calendars which had information about Falun Gong in Nanzamu Town, Xinbin County, on the morning of December 7, 2019. Ms. Tang was released, and Ms. Sun was taken to Nangou Detention Center.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yun and Daughter Ms. Dong Mei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yun, 75, and her daughter Ms. Dong Mei from Dadong District were arrested and taken to Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center on December 4, 2019.

14. [Teiling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Shuxue and Mr. Ma Wanlin’s Cases Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Lu Shuxue and Mr. Ma Wanlin were arrested on September 28, 2019. Their cases were turned over to Yinchuan District Procuratorate by Fang Zheng, a Domestic Security Division head.

15. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Quan Xiaoyan and Husband Mr. Shang Gaochao Detained

Ms. Quan Xiaoyan and her husband Mr. Shang Gaochao from Liquan County were arrested and handcuffed by three plainclothes officers while they worked in their store on November 25, 2019. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, SIM cards, and 1,100 yuan in cash. The couple was taken to Liquan County Detention Center for 15 days of detention. They have returned home.

16. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Meng Jinli Missing for Over Two Years

Ms. Meng Jinli, about 38, worked at odd jobs in Yingcheng City. She disappeared when she was returning to Guizhou from Hubei in March or April 2017. No one has heard anything from her for two years.
