(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 39 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

21. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] 16 Practitioners Face Trial

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Gangli Detained in Prison

Ms. Liu Gangli was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in August 2021. She is currently detained in the No.1 Detention Center. Her pension has been suspended for a year. She appealed to the intermediate court but her case has not been filed.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Tianbi Arrested

Ms. Zhao Tianbi, 70, from the Jinsha Community was arrested eighteen months ago in a residential community in Qingyang District. She was distributing cards that have a QR code that can be used to bypass the CCP’s Internet blockade. She was later released on bail pending trial. The case against her was submitted to the Qingyang Court. She was arrested and will be tried on July 19, 2022.

3. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Chunlan Arrested

Ms. Li Chunlan was arrested at home by officers from the Jiangzhuang Police Station on the morning of June 24, 2022. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and a computer were confiscated. Ms. Li was taken to the Jiangzhuang Police Station. It is unknown where she is detained.

4. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Lin Harassed

Two officers from the Taocun Police Station went to Mr. Zhangn Lin’s home on the morning of June 17, 2022. They photographed the place and questioned Mr. Zhang. Mr. Zhang tried to clarify the truth to them.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Cheng Sujun and Ms. Xie Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Cheng Sujun and Ms. Xie Yuzhen were arrested by a group of officers when they were returning home after buying vegetables in a market. They were taken away in different cars.

Ms. Cheng was taken to the Binhu Police Station in the Baohe District. She refused to cooperate and was detained in a cell with metal bars. She was placed under 10-day detention but it was not executed. She was released later that afternoon.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Yan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Sun Yan, 60, from Luyuan District, was arrested by officers from the Taoyuanlu Police Station in early March 2022 for distributing truth clarifying materials in the Taoyuanlu Community in the Nanguan District. She has been detained in a detention center for over 100 days.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Sufen Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Sufen from the Fangzi District was arrested by officers from the Fenghuang Police Station around June 25, 2022. She was detained for a few days.

8. [Jiaokou City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Jianli Harassed

Mr. Zhang Jianli was harassed at home by people from the Politic and Legal Affairs Committee in April 2022. He was asked whether he still practiced Falun Gong.

Mr. Zhang’s family members received several harassing calls in late June 2022 and were threatened with jail sentences, pension suspension, etc. Mr. Zhang’s relatives also received harassing calls and were told to cooperate with the investigation.

9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shi Juntao Arrested

Ms. Shi Juntao, over 60, lives in Nanliu Town, Fangzi District. She was arrested at home by officers from the Nanliu Town Police Station on the morning of June 25, 2022. Her printer, printing paper, and computer were confiscated. It is unknown where Ms. Shi is detained.

10. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wan Taoying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wan Taoying was arrested by police in Jinxian County on November 26, 2021. She has been detained in the Jinxian County Detention Center since then. The case against her was submitted to the court in March 2022. Her lawyer tried to visit her in the detention center in February and in March but was not allowed to. The guards claimed it was because of the pandemic.

11. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Shijuan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shijuan from Jianchang County was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested at home by officers in Jianchang County on June 22, 2022. She is currently detained in the Huludao City Detention Center.

12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shuhua and Ms. Xu Guizhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Shuhua and Ms. Xu Guizhen were tried in the Kuiwen Court on June 20, 2022. They were sentenced to three years and six months in prison respectively. Right after the trial, they were taken away to undergo physical examinations. They were denied admission by the detention center due to the examination result and were allowed to go home. Five days later on June 25, 2022, Ms. Wang Shuhua was arrested and taken to the Changyi Detention Center.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yanyu Arrested

Ms. Wang Yanyu from Changchun City stays in her daughter’s home in Shanghai City. She was arrested by two police officers on June 25, 2022, and is currently held in the Bacheng Mental Health Center in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province.

14. [Yandu County, Jiangsu Province] The Case Against Ms. Ni Xiangzhen and Ms. Yan Lin Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Ni Xiangzhen and Ms. Yan Lin from Yandu County were arrested by officers in Yandu County in February or March 2022. They were detained for a while and were later released on bail pending trial. Their cases were submitted to the Dafeng County Procuratorate in late June 2022.

15. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Qin Arrested

Ms. Yang Qin from Tongliang District recently returned after staying away from her home for a while. Her home was under surveillance and she was arrested.

16. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. He Harassed

Several officers from the Shuilu Police Station in Tuanfeng County went to the home of elderly practitioner Ms. He on June 10, 2022. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and some cash.

17. [Chongqing] Four Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Ms. Gao Jie from the Hechuan District was arrested by officers including Yang Chengli from the Hechuan Police Department on June 17, 2022. Three practitioners were harassed at home on the same day. They are Ms. Huang Shubi, Ms. Yang Bangbi and Ms. Chen. Ms. Gao Jie is currently detained in a brainwashing center.

18. [Jiaonan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Liu Arrested

Ms. Yang Liu was arrested at her home by several officers. Her home as well as her father-in-law’s home were ransacked. Her computer and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated from her home. She is currently detained at the Zhuhai Police Station.

19. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Pan Yiye Arrested

Mr. Pan Yiye from the Ganyu District was reported to police for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was arrested by officers from the Lizhuang Police Station in Ganyu District on the afternoon of June 20, 2022. He was placed under criminal detention the next day and is currently detained in the Lianyungang Detention Center.

20. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Zhang Shufeng Arrested (Additional Information)

Zhang Shufeng (gender unknown) lives in Lingmiao Village, Xiaogan Town. Zhang was arrested outside on June 28, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Zhang’s home was ransacked and the Falun Gong books were confiscated. Zhang was released in the evening.

Zhang Shufeng, female, born in 1953, 69 years old.

21. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] 16 Practitioners Face Trial

Sixteen practitioners including Ms. Li Guizhi and Ms. Wang Yanqie from Xinmin City, will be tried in the Liaozhong Court on June 30, 2022.
