(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 39 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The Lanshan District Court recently notified Ms. Ji Yongcheng’s family that the case against her would be heard on July 12, 2022.
Ms. Ji from Xidoushan Village, Taoqu Town, was arrested by officers from the Xijiao Police Station in Lanshan District while she distributed Falun Gong materials on September 26, 2020. She was released the following day and placed under residential surveillance by the Taoqu Police Town Station.
On February 15, 2022, Ms. Ji was arrested at her home and taken to the Fei County Police Station by officers from the Chengbei Police Station and the Taoqu Town Police Station. She was taken to the Xijiao Police Station in the Lanshan District the following day. She was taken to the Mengyin County Detention Center on February 17. She is currently being held in the Linyi City Detention Center.
Ms. Jiang Tao from the Fengtai District will be tried at the Fengtai District Court on the afternoon of July 22, 2022. She was arrested at home in September 2021. She is being held in the Fengtai Detention Center.
Xu Hua, Ms. Wang Genlan, and Ms. Yang Xiuying were arrested by officers from the Qingping Police Station in Gaotang County on July 15, 2022. Details are pending.
Ms. Hu Yuping from Miaocha Town was arrested in Fuyang City in early July 2022. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Liu Fujiang, 70, a retired official from the Foreign Economic and Trade Commission of Cao County, was reported to the police on the morning of July 11, 2022, while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at the Ximen bus station next to the Jiangshanmingjun Residential Community. He was arrested by officers from the Panshi Police Station. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and printed materials. He is being held in the Cao County Detention Center.
A man and a woman, who claimed they were from the community management office and conducting a survey of people from out-of-town, knocked on the door at Ms. Zhang Fengling’s home on the morning of July 15, 2022. Six or seven officers from the Jinhua Police Station rushed in and arrested her. The officers confiscated numerous personal items. Ms. Zhang was taken to a police department. After hearing about her arrest, her non-practitioner son went to her home and was taken to the police station. He was released after 7 p.m. that day.
On the same day, Wei Jingran’s home was ransacked. Ms. Wang Xuemei, Ms. Li Yanqiu, and Mr. Wang Cai’s wife were also arrested.
It was reported that Ms. Zhang is being held in the Baicheng Detention Center. Ms. Wang was handcuffed and her situation is not known. Ms. Li and Mr. Wang’s wife were released.
Ms. Liu Cailian and Ms. Xia Cuixiang from Tuanwang Town were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 5, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Xuefang Town Police Station. Officers from the Tuanwang Town Police Station ransacked Ms. Liu’s home and confiscated about 40 personal items that afternoon.
Both practitioners were held in custody until 11 p.m. before being released. Ms. Liu later went to the police station twice to demand her personal items be returned, but the police refused.
Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun from the No. 9 Oil Production Plant was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from Longnan Police Department on the morning of July 12, 2022. She is being held in the Daqing Detention Center.
Officers from the Beixiangyi Police Station and officials from Dingzhuang Village, Cheng’an County, broke into Ms. Guan Lianrong’s home and ransacked the place on the morning of July 13, 2022. Only her paralyzed husband and preschool-age grandson were at home at the time. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and all her Falun Gong books. They also ransacked the home of Ms. Guan’s non-practitioner daughter-in-law, where they tore off all couplets which had Falun Gong content.
Then, these people broke into the home of Ms. Zhang Meiqin, who had been paralyzed for years as a result of persecution. They tore up couplets and confiscated New Year paintings and a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
They then went to the homes of Mr. Niu Fuguo and Mr. Bao Jige and tore up their couplets. That afternoon, they banged on the doors of these two families’ homes. Mr. Niu was taken to the police station. The officers confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Gong books. Mr. Niu’s wife went to the police station to demand his release and was taken into custody. The officers issued three summons: one to Mr. Bao, his mother and his wife, and threatened that they would have to report to the police station on a fixed schedule.
The couplets and lanterns in Ms. Wang Xilan’s home in Beixiangyi Village were also torn up by the same group of people.
A few days ago, Ms. Ma Fengmei from Nanxiangyi Village, was also harassed by the police officers, and her family was forced to remove couplets. The officers also threatened Ms. Ma’s family to force her to go to the police station to renounce Falun Gong. Due to the pressure, Ms. Ma left home.
Several police officers went to Mr. Ma Ping’s home in the Huanan Residential Community on the evening of July 12, 2022. They falsely claimed to check PCR test records. When Mr. Ma’s wife did not open the door, these people jumped in through the windows. They ransacked the place and found Falun Gong-related items in the cabinets. Mr. Ma’s son stepped up and told them to stop. The officers noticed that Mr. Ma was in poor health, so they took his son into custody instead. They confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and a computer.
The officers interrogated Mr. Ma’s son in the police station. Mr. Ma’s son did not cooperate. The officers said, “If you do not cooperate, you can’t go home.” They even threatened to detain him. He was held at the police station that night.
Mr. Ma’s son was held for the entire day on July 13. Mr. Ma’s wife was called to the police station for questioning. Their questions and her answers were recorded into a transcript. Mr. Ma’s son was released when the officers’ shift was about to end that day.
Four officers in uniform from the Hexi Police Station in Bamiantong Town went to Ms. Guo Lianyun’s home in the Sanxing Village on the morning of July 11, 2022. They confiscated seven Falun Gong books and over 10 booklets.
Two officers from the Xiahuayuan Police Department went to Ms. Chen Hongzhen’s home on July 13, 2022. They threatened her that if she practiced Falun Gong, it would be detrimental to her son and grandson’s future. They pressured her to give up Falun Gong.
Ms. Fu Rong from the Haidian District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong while waiting in line for a PCR test on the morning of July 3, 2022.
Five or six officers from the Dewai Police Station in Xicheng District broke into Ms. Fu’s mother’s home and took Ms. Fu to the Xicheng District Case Handling Center on the morning of July 6. Ms. Fu was taken to Xicheng District Detention Center on July 7 for five days of detention. She returned home on July 12.
Ms. Zheng Yulan lives in Section No. 10 of the Chengfeng Residential Community in Ranghulu District. On the morning of July 12, 2022, Ms. Zheng’s daughter-in-law brought her breakfast. As soon as the door was opened, nearly 20 officers rushed down from the hallway upstairs and forced their way in. The officers shoved her daughter-in-law to the ground, injuring her hand. Mr. Chen Xiaohui saw it on the monitor and thought she was being robbed. When he stepped up to help her he was arrested too. He has been placed in detention.
Four officers from the Xinxiang City Police Department, in Henan Province, and from the Shijingshan District Police Department and the Laoshan Police Station, both in Beijing, broke into Mr. Zhao Zhansheng’s home in the Laoshandongli Community in Shijingshan District around 10 a.m. on July 13, 2022. They arrested Mr. Zhao and confiscated his Falun Gong books and a cell phone. He was accused of clarifying the truth on the Internet. Mr. Zhao is being held in the Shijingshan District Police Department.
Ms. Zhang Yuhong, in her 40s, from Dongchangfu District, was arrested in late June 2022. After being held in the Liaocheng City Detention Center for 14 days, she was taken to the Chiping District Detention Center. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Four officers, including Wang Zhongge and Liu from the Zhongxin Police Station, went to Ms. Zhang Zhimin’s home and took her photo of the founder of Falun Gong on the morning of July 12, 2022. They returned that afternoon to arrest her but failed under strong resistance from Ms. Zhang and her family.
Ms. Li Guimei from Beishan Village in Wanliang Town and another elderly practitioner were arrested and taken to the Wanliang Town Police Station on July 14, 2022. They were released that day.
Mr. Ni Shaoming was arrested at home on the afternoon of July 11, 2022. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated numerous personal items. Mr. Ni is being held in Panjin City Detention Center. Further information is pending.
Ms. Hou Yaqian was arrested by officers from the Decheng District Domestic Security Division on July 12, 2022. She is being held in the Dezhou City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao Yucai and Ms. Li Junlan were arrested by officers from the Economic Development Zone Domestic Security Division at noon on July 14. They were released late that night.
Ms. Shan Xiufang was arrested by officers from the Economic Development Zone Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 14. Her current situation is unknown.
Officers from the Fuyuan Domestic Security Division went to the home of Ms. Wu Mei’e at 2 p.m. on July 12, 2022. Ms. Wu was paralyzed in bed, so they photographed her and left.
They next went to Ms. Zhang Guizhen’s home, ransacked the place, and confiscated her Falun Gong books and keepsakes. Ms. Zhang was not at home at the time. The officers waited at her home for over an hour and arrested her when she returned. She was released and returned home after 6 p.m. that evening.
Jiang Xianjun, director of the Pokou Township Police Station, Party secretary Lian Xuehai of Cuiyechong Village, and another person broke into Ms. Geng Shemei’s home around 5:30 p.m. on July 16, 2022. They photographed the place and ransacked it. Jiang asked Ms. Geng if she still practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Geng clarified the truth to him, but he stopped her. In the end, they took the photo of the founder of Falun Gong. They told her she would have to go to the police station. If she failed to show up, they would come back.
Ms. Yang Yunchun, about 52, from Miaoshang Village in Lanshan District, was tried by the Lanshan District Court on July 13, 2022.
Ms. Yang was arrested in May 2018 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Officers from the Lanshan District Domestic Security Division and the Daling Police Station ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, and a motorcycle. The officers also took her non-practitioner husband and mother-in-law to the police station for questioning. Ms. Yang was taken to the Linyi City Brainwashing Center. She was later released on bail.
In the second half of 2021, the police station issued a new bail notice. She was arrested again on May 27 this year.
