(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners gathered at Club Boyacá, in the city of Tunja, to participate in the 7th National Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference, on November 2, 2025. Constructed in the 16th century, the Boyacá Club is a historically significant building that is symbolic for the city of Tunja.
Falun Dafa practitioners attended in the 7th Colombia National Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference in the city of Tunja.
Thirty-four practitioners spoke at the conference, and shared their cultivation experiences—how they let go of their attachments and bad habits, improved their morals and behavior, and told people about the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Practitioners talked about their cultivation experiences.
A new practitioner from the city of Bogota shared her story of searching for spirituality all her life. She believed that there must be a good God—but while looking into religions and spiritual books she could not find a convincing explanation that God existed.
Earlier this year, while meditating, she suddenly thought of the word “crucible.” She did not know what it meant so she searched on the Internet. The first link led her to a phrase from the first lecture of the book Zhuan Falun:
“Some people believe in setting up a bodily crucible and furnace to make dan from gathered medicinal herbs, and they think that this dan is gong. It is not.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
This serendipity led her to learn about the practice of Falun Dafa, which she had not heard of before. She then sought information about the practice from the contact person in her city. She learned the exercises after visiting a group practice site in a local park. The first time she joined a Fa study group, she encountered a paragraph in Zhuan Falun that reads:
“Of course, we believe in predestined relationships. Everyone sits here all because of a predestined relationship.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
This helped her understand why a simple search for a word led her to Falun Dafa.
She subsequently set off on her journey of cultivation practice—she learned to eliminate attachments such as anger, envy, the need to control, and the attachment to being recognized. She’s a mother, and practicing Falun Dafa helped improve her family relationships.
She thanked Master Li Hongzhi for guiding her on this path of cultivation as she strives to assimilate the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
A practitioner from the city of Medellín described a near-death encounter several years ago when he was riding a motorcycle and trying to overtake a truck on the highway. At one point another truck appeared, coming in the opposite direction, and it looked as if he was going to be caught between the two vehicles. However, at the last second, the motorcycle picked up speed, as if it had been pushed, and miraculously made it through.
He was very grateful to Master, but he also formed a wrong notion that nothing bad could happen to him. Several years later, he felt unwell and was in a lot of pain. When he looked inward, he found that he had an attachment—he thought he was immune to any bad outcomes, and he judged other practitioners when he felt they weren’t very diligent. With his new understanding, he was able to put himself in others’ situations, and he felt ashamed for judging them in the past.
He understood that practicing cultivation was not life insurance. After he realized this he was grateful that he had the opportunity to practice Falun Dafa. He was then able to begin accepting whatever is arranged on his cultivation path, and understood there must be reasons for it. Whatever a practitioner encounters is good. After he let go of his human notions, he quickly recovered.
A practitioner from the city of Bogotá recounted how experiencing bitter tribulations helped him to advance on his cultivation path.
He faced overwhelming family difficulties in a short period of time. First, his daughter was involved in an accident and her knee was injured. He had to rush her to the clinic, but he had little money—it took him three days to get enough money for the surgery. Due to the stressful situation he lost his temper with the clinic staff, insisting that they move his daughter to a better room. When he succeeded, he knew in his heart that it was wrong.
He then learned that his oldest son had dropped out of college two years earlier because of various problems that his son had kept from him. He could not understand his son’s behavior, but a passage in Zhuan Falun helped him understand that he was not in control of his adult children’s fate.
These situations led him to understand that it was wrong to overindulge his children. Trying to solve every obstacle for them not only did not help them, but could make them become dependent and less resilient.
Shortly after this, the death of a best friend gave him a third blow, making him feel even more helpless, and increasing his suffering. After a period of difficult cultivation caused by these tribulations, he was able to understand that the root cause of his discomfort was selfishness and “qing” (emotion).
Sandra and her husband, Andrés, attended the Colombia National Fa Conference.
Sandra Milena Escobar is a teacher-consultant and has practiced Falun Dafa for a little over a year—a path she describes as “the greatest treasure” of her life. She recalls the impact she felt from the very first moment, “It is a privilege. The first time I did the exercises I realized how fortunate I was.”
She read Falun Gong in just four days. She said, “I didn’t want to stop reading it... I didn’t want to stop.” She had the same feeling when she read the book Zhuan Falun.
Regarding attending the Fa Conference, she said, “For me, the whole process of being at such a magnanimous, solemn event has been very valuable.” She said listening to other practitioners talk about their cultivation experiences was very meaningful. She felt that their stories inspire her to continue her cultivation in a more diligent and disciplined manner.
Doris Cohen Hernandez, a business administrator, had the opportunity to join the Spanish-language Epoch Times newspaper more than seven years ago. She said that Falun Dafa has profoundly influenced her life. The Colombian National Fa Conference was especially meaningful to her. She said that attending the conference was deeply enriching, and she was moved to tears.
The experiences shared by other practitioners deeply touched her, reminding her that every practitioner is valuable, and how important it is for practitioners to appreciate the paths they’ve traveled. Doris felt the conference hall was a pure space—an environment she perceived as a “pure land,” where she felt that everyone was part of the same family. She said that even without the need to speak, there was a genuine connection between the practitioners, a feeling that she defined as a deep and true bond.
