(Minghui.org) Minghui.org learned recently that a man in Jiutai City, Jilin Province, who is being incarcerated for his faith in Falun Gong, wrote to the prison authorities in early 2025 seeking to hold his perpetrators responsible.
Mr. Guo Yanxiang, a teacher at the Shanghewan Town Central School, was arrested on November 16, 2020. Shanghewan Town Police Station officers broke into his home that day and confiscated a computer, two printers, several Falun Gong books, and 36,000 yuan in banknotes with Falun Gong messages printed on them.
Mr. Guo was taken to the Jiutai District Detention Center. It is unclear when he was convicted or how long his prison sentence is. He was admitted to Gongzhuling Prison in late December 2020.
In his complaint filed with prison warden Liu Yan, Mr. Guo detailed how he was twice put under strict management and brutally tortured.
In early 2021, not long after Mr. Guo was taken out of a solitary confinement cell, captain Chen Xi twice summoned him to the office and shocked him with electric batons, leaving many holes in his pants. Chen also pepper-sprayed him and burned him with cigarette butts. To this day, marks from the electric shocks and cigarette burns are still visible on his legs.
Between February and March 2021, Mr. Guo was put under strict management. Instructor Shen Xudong shocked him and another Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Yiheng with electric batons, all the while saying, “I’m helping you guys eliminate your karma. Don’t you feel comfortable? You should thank me!”
After the strict management was over, Mr. Guo was taken back to Division 9. Shen shocked him again with electric batons and pepper-sprayed him. Shen also instructed an inmate to rub salt into his wounds. Mr. Guo sustained even more injuries and again had holes in his pants from the electric shocks. He had a relapse of his heart disease after the torture session.
It is unclear exactly when Mr. Guo was again put under strict management. Captain Wang Zhiqiang instructed inmates to watch him around the clock and not let him sleep. They also pepper-sprayed the mask he was forced to wear.
Wang turned on an electric baton to intimidate Mr. Guo. He instructed people to hold him down and put a pen in his hand. They held his hand to write statements to renounce and denounce Falun Gong. When the writing was not up to “their standard,” they repeated the whole thing again.
Mr. Guo had a mental collapse afterward. He improved somewhat but did not fully recover.
Warden Wang Jinglong was in charge during the two episodes of strict management. New warden Liu has not responded to Mr. Guo’s complaint. Mr. Guo is still being forced to “study” propaganda defaming Falun Gong every day.
