(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Nine Bin County practitioners were detained, arrested, or harassed on August 18, 2025, by Bin County Police Department officers.
The eight who were arrested were Ms. Li Leixin; Ms. Sun Ru; Ms. Lang, first name unknown; Ms. Sun Jixia and Ms. Xu Feng, in their 70s; and Ms. Qu Shuzhi, Ms. Zhou Shuqin, and Ms. Wang Zhongxia, in their 80s. All of their homes were ransacked.
The police ordered Ms. Qu and Ms. Zhou to write statements to renounce Falun Gong and threatened to sentence them if they continued talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Both women, plus Ms. Xu and Ms. Wang, were released the same day.
Ms. Sun Jixia was released the next day. Ms. Li, Ms. Sun Ru, and Ms. Lang were given 15 days of detention.
Ms. Sun Guizhi, in her 70s, had her home ransacked but wasn’t arrested.
Ms. Zhang Yuemei and Ms. Yu Xiuzhi’s cases were submitted to the procuratorate on August 26, 2025.
Ms. Zhao Yuling was detained for 10 days and released.
Ms. Gu Jihong’s pension has been suspended since January 2025, totaling more than 80,000 yuan.
Mr. Sun Qijie was arrested at home on the morning of August 20, 2025. Police officers confiscated his Falun Gong books, informational materials, and other belongings. Mr. Li Qingguang was arrested on the same day. The police ransacked his home and seized computers, Falun Gong books, and other items. Both of them are being held in either a detention center or a lockup.
