(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Nine practitioners, including Mr. Liu Han, were arrested around early January 2026 and are being held in a local detention center.
Ms. Gao Pinghua and her husband, Mr. Xu Kaifeng, were arrested at work on January 6, 2026, by Chongwen Police Station officers. The police ransacked their home, seized Falun Gong books, players, and other items. Mr. Xu was released the same day, while Ms. Gao was admitted to a detention center. Two days after their arrests, the police searched their rental properties, Ms. Gao’s parent’s home, and her elder sister’s home.
Ms. Fu Hong was sentenced to five years in prison. She appealed with the Qinhuangdao Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict. She was admitted to the Hebei Province Women’s Prison on December 16, 2025.
Ms. Zuo Xiuyun was tried by the Minqing County Court on December 13, 2024, and sentenced to three years and five months with a 10,000-yuan fine in October 2025. She appealed with the Fuzhou City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict in December 2025.
Ms. Qiu Tieyan was arrested on January 5, 2026.
Ms. Wang Chunyan was arrested in early January 2026. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.
Mr. Wang Qing’an and Mr. Tang Baoquan were arrested in December 2025. They have been released.
Ms. Yao Hualan’s home was ransacked on December 14, 2025, by Qingshui Town Police Station officers. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was taken to the police station the next day and released four hours later.
Mr. Wang Yingdong was arrested on December 30, 2025, by Dongting Police Station officers. He was released on January 9, 2026.
Ms. Zhang Jianqiu was released on December 23, 2025, after completing an 18-month prison term.
Ms. Wang Ling’s home was ransacked by three officers from Fangyuan Police Station, while she was out on January 8, 2026. The officers confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, over 10 copies of Falun Gong books, and other items.
Four practitioners were harassed and had their homes ransacked by Chengzhong Police Station officers, after they were recorded by surveillance camera talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on January 5, 2026.
A fifth practitioner, Mr. Zhou Yuxi’s home was also ransacked by Chengzhong Police Station officers on January 8, 2026. His computers and other items were confiscated.
Ms. Zhang Guijun, 53, was arrested on October 16, 2025, by Lingnan Police Station officers. Her home was ransacked. She was detained for 15 days on administrative detention.
