(Minghui.org) Since September of this year, following an order from the secretary of the Hebei Province Political and Legal Affairs Committee, police officers, neighborhood committees, and village committees at various cities, districts, and counties across the province have monitored, harassed, or arrested Falun Gong practitioners.

In Wuji County, Shijiazhuang City, many practitioners, especially those who started practicing Falun Gong before the Chinese Communist Party launched the persecution in 1999, were targeted. In most of the harassment episodes, the police took photos of the practitioners, and confiscated their Falun Gong books, informational materials, and other personal items.

Xiumin, nearly 70 and last name unknown, was arrested at her home in Chengguan Town. She has been held at the Shijiazhuang City Detention Center since. Her son, who doesn’t practice Falun Gong, was also arrested, had his home ransacked, and he was detained for ten days.

Mr. Guo Min, also of Chengguan Town, was arrested and detained for a few hours. His home was also ransacked, and the paintings which had information about Falun Gong were torn down.

A practitioner in her 80s in Dachen Township was arrested after the police saw the photo of Falun Gong’s founder on her wall during the door-to-door harassment of local practitioners. She was held at the Shijiazhuang City Detention Center for five days.

While harassing Ms. Yang Xiangrui, of Guozhuang Township, the police searched every room in her home. Because they only found a few Falun Gong books the first time, they soon returned and searched again.

In Zhangduangu Town, Mr. Geng Yiqing was arrested and detained for 10 days, simply because he had a computer on his desk.

Ms. Zhang Shengfang, a villager in Qiqia Village in her 80s, was also harassed.

A few other practitioners in Beisu Township and Gaotou Township also reported being harassed and having their photos taken against their will.
