(Minghui.org) Shen Yun Performing Arts Global Company performed to a full house at the Wycombe Swan Theatre in High Wycombe, UK, on February 21, 2026. Mayor Majid Hussain presented a certificate of appreciation to the company for its outstanding performance and cultural contribution to the local community.

Shen Yun gave nine sold-out performances within seven days in High Wycombe. Even though an additional show was added to the original schedule, tickets were sold out well in advance. The audience responded enthusiastically, with warm applause.

Mayor Majid Hussain said that he watched the show on February 21 (Saturday) and he was impressed. He presented the certificate on stage and said, “This is a truly beautiful performance that deeply moves me. As the mayor of High Wycombe, I want to express my support and gratitude, and that’s why I’m here today to present Shen Yun Performing Arts with a certificate of appreciation.”

In his address, the mayor noted that Shen Yun showcased the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture and presented a moving theme on the persecution of faith. He specifically mentioned the story of a blind boy and his mother in the program, describing it as very touching. He said the entire performance demonstrated a cultural tradition spanning thousands of years and the spirit of mutual respect among people, which was deeply moving.

Mayor Hussain stated that despite the many changes brought about by the changing times, through such artistic performances, people can rediscover traditional culture and values, as well as the spirit of respect for elders and mutual support within the community—all of which are invaluable.

Mayor Hussain said that he talked with other audience members during the show. All of them were impressed with the performance.

“That was very, very important to bring out the old tradition and old culture and perform in front of the stage, in front of the people, showing them: this is what it was all about. And it's good to know that people still remember those old culture and old values,” Mayor Hussain said.

“It was absolutely beautiful, the traditions and the values and looking out for each other, the respect within the community and the elders respect in there, it showed really true colors,” he added.

He commended the performance, “Absolutely amazing. I don’t know where they get the stamina from. I was sitting there and I was thinking they put in such a beautiful performance out there and they’re not even out of breath. It was done so beautifully and so amazingly. It was professionally done.

“I hope Shen Yun comes back again because it was really appreciated by the audience and the wider people within the Wycombe Swan Theatre here. So I’m hoping to come back here again next year to watch this,” he said.
