(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Three practitioners, including Li Yuyan, were arrested by Chengdonghu Police Station officers on April 1, 2026, while studying Falun Gong teachings together.
Mr. Han Wei was sentenced to fifteen months in prison on March 26, 2026, by the Chongchuan District Court in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. He has appealed the verdict.
Ms. Gao Hongxia was arrested on March 30, 2026, while working in Harbin City in the same province. She has been held at the Wuchang City Detention Center since.
Ms. Wang Shuhua and Ms. Yang were reported to the police when talking to people about Falun Gong in mid-March 2026. Ms. Wang was arrested and held at the Yaojia Detention Center. Ms. Yang’s situation isn’t clear.
Mr. Liu Zhirong, Ms. Guo Xizhen, and Ms. Lei Xinmin were arrested on March 29, 2026, while studying Falun Gong teachings at a private residence. The police searched Mr. Liu’s bag and confiscated over 500 yuan paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.
The officers then searched the homes of Ms. Guo and Ms. Lei and confiscated their Falun Gong materials.
Ms. Li, in her 60s, was arrested by Lingzhushan Police Station officers in March 2026 while talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers handcuffed her, forced her at gunpoint to lead them to her home, and conducted a search there. She was then admitted to the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo District.
Ms. Hou Yurong was held at the Liangshui Town Detention Center for 30 days and has been released on bail. Her son was detained for 11 days and has also been released. The police extorted 5,000 yuan from each of them.
A group of officers from Badahu Police Station broke into Ms. Yan Jingqiu’s home at around 1 p.m. on March 14, 2026, and ransacked the place. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and other items. Ms. Yan was admitted to the Qingdao City Second Detention Center later that day. The police didn’t deliver her detention warrant to her family until ten days later. The notice only stated that she would be detained for 30 days, without providing a reason.
Ms. Chen Guolan was sentenced to four years with a 10,000-yuan fine by the Kaili City Court on November 12, 2025. She appealed to the Qiandongnan Autonomous Prefecture Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict in February 2026, shortly before the Chinese New Year.
