(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Xu Sijing and Huan Yingluo Detained

Xu Sijing and Huang Yingluo were arrested on April 13, 2026. Officers from the Meiyuan Police Station confiscated their Falun Gong books, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, computers, printers, and other items. Their families went to the police station next day and appealed for their release. Officers refused to allow the families to meet with them or disclose their location. Their whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Li Wenshen Arrested

Li Wenshen was arrested at home on April 13, 2026. Police confiscated Li's computers, printers, and Falun Gong printouts.

3. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sheng Fengling Incarcerated

Ms. Sheng Fengling was incarcerated in the Jinan Women’s Prison on March 20, 2026.

4. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiaoying was called to the Liantang Police Station in early April, 2026. She was arrested once she arrived there. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yao Lumin Arrested

Ms. Yao Lumin was intercepted and arrested when she was driving on April 11, 2026, by officers from the Qiandeng Town Police Station and the Yongnian Police Department. It was said that she was released on bail after her 2022 arrest for spreading Falun Gong messages.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Reject Virtual Hearing

Ms. Liu Shuzhen, Mr. Shi Zuosheng, Ms. Chen Xiumei, and Ms. Li Hongmei were arrested on August 21, 2025. They have been detained thereafter.

The Acheng District Court scheduled a virtual hearing on April 13, 2026, but it was reportedly canceled because the defendants refused to attend.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Weihua and Xiaogao Sentenced

Ms. Liu Weihua, in her 60's, and Xiaogao (nickname), in her 40's, were arrested and put into the Fudong Detention Center in Jimo City in July 2025, for spreading Falun Gong messages. In 2026, Ms. Liu was sentenced to four years in prison, while Xiaogao was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

8. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ji Guowei Released

Mr. Ji Guowei was arrested in Yancheng City at the end of March 2026, by Sheyang County police. He was released in early April 2026.

9. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Chunli Released on Bail

Ms. Yang Chunli talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in a bank on May 29, 2025. Tumen City police tracked her through their surveillance system and arrested her at her sister’s home in the evening. She was detained for 15 days in the Yanji Detention Center, and then released on bail.

Tumen City Domestic Security Division officers took her statement again at the end of December 2025.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Songyan Harassed

Mr. Zhao Songyan was harassed by local police station officers recently. The officers took photos of him.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Rongxin and Ms. Guo Lizhi Detained

Mr. Li Rongxin, 71, and Ms. Guo Lizhi, 69, were arrested at home on February 4, 2026, by officers from the Huanghe Police Station and the Huanggu Domestic Security Division. The officers ransacked their home, and seized their printers, books, and memory cards.

Ms. Guo was detained for 37 days and released on bail. Mr. Li has been held in the Huanggu Detention Center. It has been over 70 days.

12. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Li Chunxiang Harassed

Ms. Li Chunxiang, 86, had difficulty getting around. She planned to move to Beijing to live with her daughter, and bought the ticket. Police station officer called her on February 28 and questioned why she was going to Beijing, where she would stay, etc. She was harassed the entire way with phone calls, searches, and threats. She was stalked and photographed in Beijing.

13. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xiao Zhanfang Arrested

Ms. Xiao Zhanfang was arrested on April 14, 2026, when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in Dongpang Village Street Market in Dongting Town, Dingzhou City.

14. [Beijing] Ms. Bu Jinxiang Abused in Prison

Ms. Bu Jinxing was sentenced to nine years in prison. After being incarcerated in the Beijing Third Women’s Prison for three years, she is suffering from severe mental disturbance, and her complexion is pale and haggard. Her face is heavily swollen, and her responsiveness is sluggish. She is in a constant state of disorientation throughout the day, and has to ingest large quantities of psychotropic medications on a daily basis.

15. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Huiling Faces Indictment

Ms. Meng Huiling, 64, was arrested at home on January 13, 2026, by Xuejiadao Police Station officers. Her home was ransacked. She has been held in the Qingdao City Second Detention Center for three months. Her case is with the procuratorate.
