France: Event in Paris Commemorates April 25 Appeal

April 27, 2026 |   By Zhou Wenying, Minghui correspondent in Paris

(Minghui.org) Practitioners held activities at Place André Tardieu on April 20, 2026 to commemorate their peaceful appeal in Beijing on April 25, 1999. Local residents and tourists learned about the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa and how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues to persecute the spiritual discipline, including harvesting organs from practitioners while they are alive.

Many people stopped to watch practitioners as they demonstrated the exercises near the metro entrance. Practitioners told them about the significance of the April 25 Appeal. People expressed their support and good wishes, and signed a petition to call for an end to the persecution.

Mathilde Dodie

Mathilde Dodie, who teaches English at Sorbonne University, said while she lived in China for nine months, she saw people practicing qigong. She talked with practitioners for a long time and signed the petition.

“Traditional cultivation practice should be passed down,” Mathilde said. “No government or political party can or should end the heritage. I think those want to ban it or persecute it are wrong!”

Nicolas Paz

Nicolas Paz from Italy said, “It’s important to let people know what’s happening. Having compassion and meditating are critical for people’s spiritual growth. More people should practice Falun Dafa. I hope we’ll do something positive for mankind and stop the Chinese government’s appalling behavior. If we could incorporate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in every day of our lives, it will improve humanity as a whole.”

Lelou

Lelou, a local resident, was appalled by the CCP’s crime of organ harvesting and said, “It’s absolutely unacceptable! It must stop!”

Carlos Rauz, who is a school teacher, said, “It’s 2026. Communism shouldn’t exist in the world. It’s ridiculous to see such a persecution still happening, given the damage Communism has done in the 20th century.” He said he appreciated practitioners’ efforts to raise public awareness.
