(Minghui.org) May 13, 2026, was the 27th World Falun Dafa Day. Three Members of the Hessian State Parliament (MSP) sent letters of congratulations and to wish the upcoming celebration event in Frankfurt success.
Heiko Kasseckert, MSP of the Hessian Christian Democratic Union (CDU) (Official website)
Letter from Heiko Kasseckert MSP
Mr. Heiko Kasseckert wrote: “World Falun Dafa Day is a special occasion to highlight values that are of great importance for peaceful and respectful coexistence: Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. These principles unite people across cultural, social, and national boundaries, offering guidance in an era often characterized by uncertainty, rapid change, and polarization.
“Since its introduction, Falun Dafa has reached and inspired countless people. At its core lie not only meditation and personal development but also a conscious and mindful approach to interacting with others. Values such as honesty, mutual respect, compassion, and inner balance serve as the foundation for positive social interaction and deserve special attention.
“Precisely for this reason, events such as World Falun Dafa Day are so important. They create space for encounters, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding. They invite us to engage in dialogue, explore new perspectives, and make our shared values visible. An open society thrives on dialogue, tolerance, and individuals who contribute to the community in a peaceful and dedicated manner.
“At the same time, this day serves as a reminder of the immense value of cultural diversity and mutual respect. Diverse traditions, beliefs, and ways of life enrich our society and help build bridges between people. Particularly in a diverse society, it is essential to cultivate respectful interactions and to strengthen social cohesion.”
Oliver Stirböck, Member of the Hessian State Parliament for the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and Parliamentary Whip of the FDP (Official website)
Letter from Oliver Stirböck MSP
Mr. Oliver Stirböck wrote: “Freedom of religion and conscience are among the inalienable foundations of human dignity. They are not a concession granted by the state, but a right inherent to every individual. This right applies regardless of origin, worldview, religion, or political conviction—and its validity extends beyond both German and European borders.
“Precisely for this reason, we must not remain silent when people are persecuted for their faith, their convictions, or their peaceful advocacy for Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. For us Free Democrats, one thing is clear: freedom is indivisible. Anyone who defends it only where it is convenient ultimately fails to defend it at all.
“The People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Communist Party continue to trample upon these fundamental values. Cultural, religious, ethnic, and political diversity are not viewed as an enrichment, but treated as a threat. Falun Dafa practitioners, Christians, Uyghurs, Tibetans, civil rights activists, journalists, and many others are subjected to surveillance, intimidation, and imprisonment, and are stripped of their fundamental rights. The reports of mistreatment, torture, coercive measures, and systematic re-education remain harrowing.
“Even in 2026, we are compelled to acknowledge: This repression does not end at China’s borders. The Chinese Communist Party attempts to suppress criticism abroad as well—through propaganda, disinformation, economic pressure, interference in institutions, and the intimidation of exile communities. This affects Europe and Germany alike. Anyone who attacks the freedom of others abroad is, in doing so, also acting against our own liberal democratic order.
“Added to this is the continued threat to Taiwan. The freedom and self-determination of the people of Taiwan are repeatedly placed under pressure. For us Free Democrats, one thing is clear: The law of the strong must never take the place of international law. Authoritarian power politics must not become the standard for international relations.
“It is precisely against this backdrop that your commitment is of particular importance. You serve as a reminder that human rights are non-negotiable. You shine a spotlight on issues where others would prefer to look away. You give a voice to those in China who are being silenced, and, through your peaceful activism, you demonstrate that courage, perseverance, and moral conviction are stronger than intimidation.
“For this, you have my express thanks, my deep appreciation, and my solidarity.
“Anyone who turns a blind eye to human rights violations for the sake of economic interests is not acting realistically, but rather shortsightedly. Freedom, the rule of law, and human dignity are not mere footnotes in foreign policy; they are the bedrock of every free society—and they must be defended even when doing so is uncomfortable.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to address you once again with a message of greeting in 2026. As you continue your efforts on behalf of religious freedom, human dignity, and liberty, I wish you continued strength, success, and perseverance. Rest assured: I stand firmly by your side.”
Martina Feldmayer, Vice President of the Hessian State Parliament, Member of the Hessian State Parliament for the Green Party (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) (Official website)
Letter from Martina Feldmayer MSP
Ms. Martina Feldmayer wrote: “I view the steadfast and peaceful efforts of Falun Dafa practitioners—on behalf of human rights, freedom of belief, and respect for human dignity—with deep appreciation and respect. I consider it vital to draw attention to existing human rights violations through non-violent means and to strengthen awareness of fundamental freedoms within our society.”
