(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhan Shuoxiu, Ms. Wu Jiaqin, and a third practitioner whose name is unknown were arrested by Chenggang Road Police Station officers at Donglangzibu Market on May 14, 2026. They were taken to the Yantai City Second Detention Center the next day.
Ms. Liu Biying, around 80, has gone missing since March 20, 2026.
Ms. Zhang Shihua was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers’ market. She was detained for 7 days and released on May 15, 2026.
Ms. Yang Manye and her husband were arrested at home on April 11, 2026. The couple has been detained since. Their family are kept in the dark about their situation. Ms. Yang’s mother hired a lawyer for her, but the detention center denied the lawyer’s request to visit her.
Mr. Chen Jiuwen was recently released after serving a prison term of two years and six months.
Ms. Liu Yanrong, around 70, was arrested at home by officers from the Huogezhuang Town Police Station on April 9, 2026, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and the police confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, desktop calendars, and radio. Ms. Liu was detained for 15 days at the Baodi District Lockup and released on April 24, 2026.
Ms. Wu Guoqin was arrested at home around 10 p.m. on March 24, 2026, by over ten officers from the Huairou District Police Department and the Chengmiao Police Station. One officer broke a window to enter the home first, and then opened the door for the others. The police ransacked her home and confiscated two notebooks and two pieces of clothing.
Ms. Wu was first taken to the Huairou District Case Handling Center for interrogation and then to the Shunyi District Detention Center. She was detained for 37 days and released on bail on April 30, 2026.
