(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Cui Yuling was arrested at Longfengcheng Residential Community on the evening of January 19, 2026, and has been detained at the Liaocheng City Detention Center. She was placed under formal arrest on February 12, 2026, and is now facing indictment by the Rongcheng City Procuratorate.
Ms. Wang Yumei was arrested at home in October 2025 for taking to people about Falun Gong. She was denied admission to a detention center due to her health, and was released on bail. The police informed Ms. Wang in January 2026 that her case had been submitted to the local procuratorate.
Ms. Wang Shuhua was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan by the Dadong District Court on November 25, 2025. Her appeal was denied on February 11, 2026, by the Shenyang City Intermediate Court. Ms. Wang was admitted to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on April 15, 2026.
Five practitioners, including Ms. Pan Qiyun, Ms. Peng Juzhi, Chen Heping (gender unknown), Ms. Li Aiguo, and Ms. Xiang Biyun, were arrested at 86-year-old Ms. Chen’s home around 1 p.m. on April 14, 2026, when they were studying Falun Gong teachings together. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books and took all six to the Heshan District Police Department.
Ms. Xie Jianhui was arrested at home around 2 p.m. that same day. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. She was also taken to the Heshan District Police Department.
Some practitioners have been released, while the others are detained at the Heshan District Lockup.
Ms. Li Yuxiang was scheduled to stand trial on April 23, 2026.
Ms. Wu Yafang, 62, was arrested by Dadong Police Station officers on December 8, 2025. She is currently detained at the Shenyang City First Detention Center.
Ms. Kan Zhixi, in her 80s, was followed home on April 16, 2026, by Liu Haizhi, head of the Yi County Domestic Security Division, and Zheng Zhiwei of the Chengguan Township Police Station, after they saw her talking to people about Falun Gong. They searched Ms. Kan’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, computer, and printer.
Ms. Wang Songyang has been missing since early April 2026.
Ms. Chao Bing, 78, was arrested on June 4, 2024, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released on bail on August 19, 2024. The Shifang City Court sentenced her to one year on September 1, 2024. While she was allowed to serve time at home initially, the authorities still took her to the Longquanyi Women’s Prison on March 15, 2025, to finish serving time. She was released on September 2, 2025.
