(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

13. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Face Indictment

1. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Liang Xueping Sentenced

Ms. Liang Xueping was arrested in March 2026 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held at the Zhumadian City Detention Center. The local court sentenced her to three years in prison in April.

2. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Six Arrested Together, One of Them Faces Indictment

Ms. Cheng Ying and five practitioners were arrested on April 17, 2025, by around 20 officers, while reading Zhuan Falun at her home. All six practitioners were detained for over a month before they were released either on bail or residential surveillance.

Ms. Cheng was notified on May 22, 2026, that her case was submitted to the Haigang District Procuratorate, which has been designated to handle all Falun Gong cases in the greater Qinhuangdao region.

3. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Jun Detained

Mr. Zhang Jun was arrested on May 7, 2026, by officers from the Gaoping District Domestic Security Division, after an armed officer reported him for talking to him about the persecution of Falun Gong. He has been detained since. The Gaoping District Procuratorate approved his arrest on May 13.

4. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Face Indictment

Su Hong, Qu Rongying, Chang Yahua, He Yongfeng, and Wang Shuhua were arrested on August 28, 2025, by officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division and local police stations. They have since been held at the Changchun City Detention Center. Su, Qu, and Chang’s cases were submitted to the local procuratorate.

5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Lihui Faces Trial

Ms. Zhao Lihui, 76, was arrested on September 14, 2025, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Gongnong Police Station. While the police was ransacking her home in the afternoon, she had a heart attack and was taken to the Fushun Second Hospital for resuscitation. She was soon released. Yet the police still submitted her case to the Wanghua District Procuratorate, which indicted her and moved her case to the Wanghua District Court. She was notified by the court to pick up her indictment on May 26, 2026.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cheng Zhongxiu Arrested

Ms. Cheng Zhongxiu was arrested at her sister’s home on May 28, 2026, by officers from the Nanhu Police Station. The police monitored her for a while before arresting her.

7. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Liu Runmiao’s Appeal Denied

Ms. Liu Runmiao, 34, was arrested in March 2025. Her home was ransacked. She has since been held at the Taiyuan City Fourth Women’s Detention Center.

On August 14, 2025, the Yingze District Court sentenced her to three years and three months in prison with a 5,000-yuan fine. She appealed to the Taiyuan City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict in February 2026.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Pei Deyou Detained

Pei Deyou, gender unknown, was arrested on May 15, 2026, by officers from the Huanggu Domestic Security Division. Pei was taken to the Liaohe Police Station, interrogated by deputy director Bai Xiguang and others. The police searched Pei’s two residences, seized over 50 Falun Gong books, and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. Pei was detained for four days and then released.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Ruilian’s Husband Harassed

Ms. Zhang Ruilian’s husband, who did not practice Falun Gong, was harassed at home on May 8 and 9, 2025. The village Party secretary, Ma Chunhui, attempted to force him to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong on Ms. Zhang’s behalf.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Fenghua Arrested

Ms. Wang Fenghua was arrested on May 28, 2026. The police ordered her husband to open the door for them in the afternoon for a search.

11. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Ms. Kong Arrested

Ms. Kong, in her 70s, whose first name is unknown, was arrested at home on May 12, 2026, by several plainclothes officers. They claimed that a surveillance camera captured her distributing Falun Gong flyers. They raided her place and turned everything upside down, without finding any Falun Gong materials. They took photos of her and took her to the police station. They interrogated her about the source of the flyers. She was released at noon.

12. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Two Sisters Still Serving Time in Prison

Ms. Wang Suqin, in her 80s, and her sister, Ms. Wang Sumei, nearly 80, are being incarcerated at the Zhenjiang City Women’s Prison. Ms. Wang Sumei has six months left on her term, and Ms. Wang Suqin still has 21 months to serve.

13. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Face Indictment

Ms. Wang Qingrong, her husband, Mr. Yang Shuguang, Ms. Wu Shiyang, Ms. Yin Shuling, and Mr. Wu Chenghua have been held at the Qitaihe City Detention Center since their arrests on January 31, 2026. The police have submitted their case to the Taoshan District Procuratorate.
