(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held activities in a park in Brasilia, Brazil’s capital, on the two weekends prior to July 20, 2026, the day the persecution began 27 years ago. They demonstrated the exercises, told people about the persecution, and collected signatures on a petition calling for it to end.

Many people who stopped to find out more about Falun Gong spoke with practitioners and signed the petition to support their efforts to end the Chinese Communist Party’s  (CCP) persecution. Many asked for a copy of The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. They said they wanted to learn how the CCP persecutes faith. Some people said they were interested in practicing Falun Gong.

People Support Falun Gong

Jonatas, a local resident who brought his daughter to the event, asked, “Why is the China portrayed in the media different from what you describe?”

The practitioner explained that the CCP has long used propaganda to cover up its persecution of faith groups. The practitioner also directed the father and daughter to see reports from the international community that condemn the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, UN documents, and data revealing a glaring discrepancy between the number of organ transplants carried out in China and the available sources of organs.

In response, Jonatas said, “This kind of evil is unprecedented. It must be stopped!” He accepted a copy of the Nine Commentaries and said he would read it and then tell his friends and family about the dangers of communism, because he did not want communism to rule Brazil. He added, “It is truly remarkable that you have persisted for 27 years, peacefully raising awareness around the world in the face of such a powerful regime as the CCP. I will bring my daughter here to learn Falun Gong.”

Fernanda Learns the Exercises

Fernanda learned about Falun Gong on the internet before she saw the event. She learned its five exercises at the event. “I really like Falun Gong. I want to start reading Zhuan Falun and keep practicing.” After hearing how the CCP persecutes the practice, she took a copy of the Nine Commentaries so she could explain to people what the CCP is really like.

She said, “I’ve always loved Chinese culture. I am overjoyed to have met such kind people today—and I learned the exercises. I hope to join you every weekend.”

A Lady Decides to Practice Falun Gong

Ms. Janeth said she’d always wanted to know more about Falun Gong. She lost both of her parents when she was young and never managed to move past her grief. When a practitioner suggested she read Zhuan Falun to learn more about the relationship between life and cultivation, Ms. Janeth seemed very touched and said, “Thank you, thank you. I will start reading it as soon as I get home, and I will definitely come to learn the exercises next week.” She signed the petition opposing the persecution of Falun Gong and took a copy of the Nine Commentaries.

People Sign the Petition and Condemn the CCP’s Persecution

Leonardo read the display board about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting that targets Falun Gong practitioners and immediately signed the petition. He said, “This kind of evil is challenging the conscience of every human being on Earth. I am willing to stand by your side. Let us stop this evil together.” He later returned with his daughter to get some materials and a copy of the Nine Commentaries. When a practitioner told the girl to remember the three words “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” she kept smiling and nodding her head.

Agricultural entrepreneur Predo said, “The CCP is a dictatorial regime. It is obsessed with how to control others. Everyone who cherishes freedom should condemn it.” He called on those who value freedom to unite against tyranny.

Gabriela, brought her daughter to the event and signed the petition. She said, “Communism is garbage. People need to eliminate it!”

Filipe said that he heard the exercise music from far away, so he came to check it out and said, “I feel very much at ease here.” When he heard that the CCP has persecuted Falun Gong for 27 years, he said, “The CCP is the embodiment of the devil. I must tell my five-year-old son and my friends how terrible it is. We must stay away from it!” He took a copy of the Nine Commentaries and encouraged practitioners, “You will certainly succeed!”

People kept stopping by to find out about Falun Gong and the persecution. When they learned that the CCP violates freedom of belief guaranteed by the Chinese Constitution and subjects Falun Gong practitioners who live by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to long-term persecution, many people expressed shock and indignation. They signed the petition to condemn the persecution and called for a collective effort to end it.
