(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
More than ten practitioners, including Chen Haibo; Jin Yanfnag; Wang Qiuping; Wang, a physician; and Wu Meie, in her 80s; were arrested on July 18, 2026, by officers from the Tongcheng County Domestic Security Division and various local police stations. Some of the arrested practitioners were taken directly to a brainwashing center in Wuhan City, the capital of Hubei, while others were held at the Chongyang Detention Center.
Ms. Xu Shuyun was arrested at the Shezhuang Street Market on July 28, 2026, by Chongwen Police Station officers.
Mr. Liao Yuanhua was arrested on April 8, 2026. His case now rests with the local procuratorate.
Ms. Chen Xiumei and her non-practitioner husband were arrested at home and taken to the police station on July 23, 2026, by chief Guo Yuqiang and several officers from the Ganguantun Town Police Station. Her husband was forced to provide information about her mailing letters with information about Falun Gong. They were released after the interrogation.
The police broke into Ms. Chen’s home again on July 27 to harass her. She has been forced to live away from home to avoid further persecution.
Ms. Wang Peili, around 70, was arrested at home on July 20, 2026, by officers from the Shibei District Police Department. They ransacked her place and confiscated her Falun Gong books.
Ms. Wang Xiuqin, 79, and Ms. Wang Xingxiang, in her 70s, were arrested in early June 2026 by officers from the Huifa Police Station. They are being held at the Changchun City Detention Center.
Sheng Yang, gender unknown, was arrested in late July 2026 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Xiu Junhuan, in her 70s, was arrested at home on March 23, 2026, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Director Guo Fudui from the Longkou City Domestic Security Office and officers from the Shiliang Police Station ransacked her home. She was released on bail later that day.
On June 15, 2026, Ms. Xiu received a notice saying that she was being given ten days of administrative detention, but because of her advanced age, she was exempted from serving time.
Ms. Liang Shuzhi, 89, was admitted by the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on July 6, 2026, despite having extremely high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, renal cysts, and cataracts.
Ms. Li Wenyan was arrested at home on July 27, 2026, by deputy chief Li and three officers from the Dongsheng Police Station. The officers ransacked her home, seizing a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, over 700 yuan in cash, and a notepad. Her two guests were also arrested. The three were released in the afternoon after an interrogation.
Ms. Xiao Zhanfang and Ms. Dong Dongqin were noticed by officers from the Dongwang Town Police Station while distributing Falun Gong flyers in a neighboring village on July 18, 2026. Ms. Xiao managed to escape, but Ms. Gao was arrested. She was released due to her poor health, but her electric vehicle has not yet been returned.
Ms. Ji Ping was arrested by Wulong Police Station officers on June 11, 2026.
Ms. Zhang, first name unknown, was arrested on July 20, 2026, by a dozen officers from the Beijing City Police Department. They then went to her daughter’s home and confiscated several copies of articles written by the founder of Falun Gong.
The police searched Ms. Zhang and forced her to change into an inmate’s uniform. They then took her to a place where she had distributed Falun Gong informational materials and took two photos of her. Due to her dangerously high blood pressure, she was released in the evening.
Ms. Hu Jinfeng was released from the Hebei Province Women’s Prison on July 26, 2026, after serving a four-year term.
