(Minghui.org) Practitioners participated in the Rose of Tralee Festival in County Kerry on August 15, 2026. Many local residents and tourists signed a petition calling for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) atrocity of harvesting organs from Falun Dafa practitioners in China. Some were interested in learning Falun Dafa.

The Rose of Tralee International Festival is one of Ireland’s largest and longest running festivals. It features a televised competition where young Irish women are celebrated as they vie for the title of Rose of Tralee, based on the popular song of the same name. Crowds of people were attracted to the five-day celebration of family fun in Tralee, which included parades, live street entertainment, a funfair, fireworks, and markets.

Many people stopped to watch as practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. They read the information or talked with practitioners and learned about the persecution.
Local resident Jennifer said that more than ten years ago she signed a petition to end the persecution. She said, “Something needs to be done about this. You have been working to help stop this for a long time!” She said she also meditates so she can’t stand to see anyone being killed for doing the Falun Dafa exercises. She believes people should have the freedom to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Lauren, another local resident, signed the petition after she talked with a practitioner. She said a friend told her about the persecution. “I can’t just walk by, I have to do something to help end this persecution!”
Jackie signed the petition and said she hopes the persecution ends soon and she wished practitioners the best of luck. “Let’s do it together,” she encouraged practitioners.
James, a poet, signed the petition, saying he wished to make a difference. He took an extra flyer to share with his friend who often visits China. After hearing about Falun Dafa’s guiding principles James said, “These principles sound great! They are also my principles. My friend is also interested in meditation. I’ll share it with her.”

Sarah, a local nurse, said that organ harvesting was unacceptable. “It’s hard to understand that this is still going on. People need to know what’s happening. It’s not right and not fair.” She signed the petition and hoped it would help.

Joe signed the petition and said that he’s seen practitioners’ activities in other cities and that he’d like to tell the Chinese people living under the CCP to never lose hope.

Karen praised practitioners for braving the persecution and stepping out. She said that the CCP’s propaganda made it hard for people in Western countries to see through the lies. “A lot of people don’t want to talk about it because they’re afraid.” Karen has three children and is concerned about what they are being told.
James and Angie signed the petition and condemned the CCP’s crimes. James said he’s concerned because it seems communism is lurking in every country. He’s thankful that practitioners are making Irish people aware of the situation.
He said compassion and respect are rare, and encouraged practitioners, “We have to stand together.” Angie agreed and said having these values can fix many problems.

Teddy, a local resident, said he’s seen practitioners meditating and he was interested in learning more about Falun Dafa. He planned to go to the group exercise site the next day.
