(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported on how the Shengli Oilfield staff persecutes employees who practice Falun Gong. The persecution has intensified since April 2021, and every employee who practices is ordered to write a guarantee statement to renounce their faith. Those who refuse to comply risk being suspended and are sent to brainwashing sessions.
This report presents several recent cases. The practitioners concerned worked in various subsidiaries of the oilfield.
Mr. Jin Shiming, an employee of the Yinzhou Hotel, was forced to attend a brainwashing session held in the hotel from July 28 to 30, 2026. Wang Chunyong and Zhu Bin, both staffers of the Oilfield 610 Office, threatened to terminate him if he refused to renounce Falun Gong.
Mr. Jin felt tremendous pressure afterwards. Prior to the latest persecution episode, he was repeatedly targeted for his faith. He was harassed by 610 Office personnel in 2012, after he was reported for removing bulletins containing messages that slandered Falun Gong.
Mr. Jin was arrested on September 9, 2016, for supporting two other practitioners who were on trial. He was taken to a brainwashing center and held there until the end of that month.
The 610 Office suspended Mr. Jin and stopped his pay in July 2022.
Ms. Ji Yingmei, an employee of the Gudao Gas and Oil Transportation Center, was repeatedly targeted for her faith. She stopped practicing Falun Gong for a while but resumed in 2019. She was arrested in July 2021 and faced frequent harassment after she was released. She died on October 9, 2022, at the age of 45.
Mr. Zhou Zhenmin, an employee of the Zhuangxi Oil Refinery, was suspended and had his year-end bonus revoked in October 2021, because he refused to attend a brainwashing session. He was then put in a company-owned apartment and not allowed to go home.
The aforementioned Wang and Zhu, along with two company officials (Li Yaping and Liu Yinchuan) showed up at the apartment at 2 p.m. on April 27, 2022. They ordered him to sign paperwork promising to renounce Falun Gong. He refused to comply.
About three hours later, Liu called in two workers, including Liu Weidong and Liang Hongjun, to stand at the door and block Mr. Zhou from leaving the apartment. Around 7:30 p.m., they grabbed his hand when he was not paying attention. He objected to this the illegal act but they managed to get his fingerprints on the prepared statement that he renounced Falun Gong.
Mr. Song Rongbo, an employee of the Gudao Oil Refinery, was harassed by 610 Office personnel in late December 2020. His supervisor forced him to attend a “study session” in April 2021 and stopped his bonus beginning the following month.
On the afternoon of April 20, 2022, officials Song Deyou, Feng Hua, Wang, and Yu Xiaoguang, summoned Mr. Song’s wife, parents, sister, brother, and sister-in-law to the company and ordered them to persuade him to renounce Falun Gong. They threatened to jeopardize the education opportunities of the children in the family.
The following current or retired employees were also harassed in recent years, including:
- Mr. Zhang Shenghong from the Zhuangxi Security Brigade- Mr. Pang Pengbo from the Gudong Service Department- Ms. Chen Shuzhen, a retiree of Gudong Community- Ms. Wang Lin from the Haiti Management Station
