Twelve Dafa practitioners from different parts of Quebec shared how they put the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance into practice, let go of self in various environments, and cooperated with their fellow practitioners. Every person who spoke expressed their gratitude for Master Li Hongzhi and said they cherished the opportunity given by Master to save people.

Kylie shared her experiences while working in the canteen during Shen Yun performances. All the practitioners who worked in the canteen were female. They had to move supplies and equipment around every day and the workload was heavy. Once, the coordinator forgot to inform the performers of a change in venue for taking their meals. All of the food service volunteers’ dissatisfaction with the coordinator came out.
The elevator they relied on stopped working, and Kylie and two other practitioners were trapped in the dark elevator. Overwhelmed by fear and resentment, she burst into tears. With the help of her fellow practitioners, Kylie realized that she had not raised her xinxing, hence the elevator could not go up. She knew she should not let her attachments affect the others and that she needed to look within unconditionally. She later learned that the coordinator was dealing with an urgent matter at that time and was also under a lot of pressure.
In another city, they ran into an unexpected situation again. It appeared that there was insufficient time to prepare meals for the performers. This time no one complained—instead they quietly cooperated. In the end, they prepared the meal in 15 minutes and what appeared impossible became possible.
Kylie said, looking back, although that period of time seemed arduous and hectic, Master put in much effort to arrange things so that practitioners could improve and cultivate while working in the canteen.
Felix works in wildlife management and shared how he talks to his coworkers about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. The organization he works in manages millions of research funds. At a board of directors meeting this year, the financial advisor suggested transferring a significant amount of money into emerging market funds and such funds usually involve Chinese companies.
Felix attended the meeting as an employee. He had no say in the decision but he thought he should use the opportunity to clarify the truth about the persecution. He told members of the board of directors, coworkers, and the financial adviser how the CCP persecutes religions. He explained that if companies invest in Chinese businesses, it is the same as supporting a political power that carries out surveillance of religious groups, torture, and even murder. The board of directors placed great importance on his opinion and decided in the end to invest in another fund.
Felix said that as a practitioner, he has understood the responsibilities he has towards the people around him, and he further understands the significance of the prehistoric vows he made.
Sara talked about how she got rid of her attachment to fame. Last year, she was invited to be a director of a large online movie. When filming was half-way through, she realized that on the surface the movie was about a heartwarming story, but in essence it was promoting ideas that go against traditional moral values. Although pulling out half-way meant she would lose her credit and the chance to create her own portfolio, she still plucked up the courage to withdraw.
Sara once created a stage play promoting Falun Dafa as the main theme and sent it to several theaters hoping to let more people know the truth about Dafa. However, after she repeatedly sent out the script, it was always rejected.
She created another one-man show and this time, she thought she should not be attached to the results. Thus she told herself to just focus on finishing what needs to be done, and whether or not it is selected or if the performance goes ahead, that is something that cannot be forced.
Her show was selected by a local arts festival. On the day of the performance, Sara sent righteous thoughts and tried her best to keep her thoughts pure and not have any intention of validating herself. She also tried not to think of what she would gain from the performance. She only thought of doing what needed to be done and conveying what needed to be conveyed as well as she could.
The results were unexpected: her show won the highest prize in the arts festival and she was given the opportunity of a week-long arts residency at a theater.
When Sara reflected on this experience, she deeply understood that when she let go of the attachment to results and stopped thinking of validating herself through her work, she was able to do things with a purer, calmer mindset.
Sara said she’s increasingly discovered that her human notions stop Master from arranging a cultivation path for her. Test after test made her realize that she must stop pursuing fame. Regardless of how unfavorable the situation is, one must validate the Fa without fear. Many things turn out to have unexpected arrangements in this state of no pursuit.
Minghui, who was born in 1998, grew up in a cultivation environment in China. In 2021, she learned that her mother was arrested at work. She had only one thought: “My mother hasn’t broken the law. She should not be detained. I must bring her home.”
She kept sending righteous thoughts on the way to the police station. She had no fear and did not think of what would happen if she failed to bring her mother home or if she was also arrested. She simply told the police she’d come to take her mother home. The officer told her to wait for a while. At 2:30 p.m, her mother was brought out, accompanied by five policemen. Around 10 minutes later, Minghui walked out of the station with her mother without completing any procedures. She called a taxi to take her mother home while she went back to work. The whole experience took about an hour.
