(Clearwisdom.net) Despite an overnight snow storm that blanketed the region, Boston's Opera House hosted a third successful showing of the 2009 Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular. This is part of a tour that will travel to nearly 80 cities worldwide in 2009.

Audience members from differing backgrounds were dazzled by the show's magnificent dances and brilliant costumes. One such audience member was Diane Gilhooley, an accountant. When asked about how the show made her feel, she replied, "I think it was divine. It sort of touched my soul, and made me feel really good. I felt joy and it brought me happiness. I enjoyed it very much!"

When asked how she feels about the spiritual part of the show, Diane said, "I felt the presence of God. The divine message, the truth and compassion, and I felt sorry for the little child that had to lose her father from the persecution. And all we can do is hope and pray, and that brought me to peace. That's what this brought me, to peace."

Saugus resident Alberta Elias also enjoyed the show. She came to the theater with Diane Gilhooley and two other ladies, having purchased tickets at the Costco Wholesale Club in Danvers, MA.

She said, "I had never been to a Chinese New Year show before, but it was marvelous. I loved the history and I was so impressed with the dancing and the stories, very much spiritually moved. Very uplifting, exciting."

Alberta concluded, "We will get eight tickets next year!"

Mike, a construction contractor

The show has an unparalleled ability to bring beauty and goodness to all who view it, even some who might otherwise not expect to enjoy Chinese classical dance. An example of this is a gentleman named Mike, a construction contractor who works on underground excavation.

His reaction to the show was, "I loved the dance. I loved the costumes. They were fantastic, and the staging. For me I learned a lot about the Chinese culture, and also I was impressed with the part about the gentleman that was persecuted."

With respect to the spiritual aspects of the production, he added, "It was very good. Actually, I was kind of amazed by the parallels and similarity between the Chinese spirituality and Christianity. Although it's different, I like the parallels."

An engineer's family took in the show

An engineer's family bought tickets from the Costco Wholesale Club in Danvers, MA. During the intermission, the family agreed to be interviewed about the show. The mother said she liked the spiritual part of the show, and said it was similar to the belief that she has, "I like the Chinese traditional culture. I feel sad that the Chinese culture was damaged in China, and I'm glad we see the Chinese tradition coming back. I noticed the persecution and human rights violations. I'm glad we are here to watch the show, which is totally different with our experience before." The father is a radar engineer, and the daughter is in high school. They said they enjoyed the colors, the music, the spiritual content, and the Chinese dance.
