(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Xu Yingchun and Ms. Li Xiujun from Qingdao City, Shandong Province, have been incarcerated at the Dashan Forced Labor Camp for more than 6 months.
At 11 a.m. on June 16, 2008, four practitioners, Ms. Xu Yingchun (in her 60s), Ms. Li Xiujun (in her 40s), Ms. Sui Lianfang (in her 50s) and Ms. Zhang Jing (in her 50s), were reported to the authorities and interrogated by the Xiaowang village committee in Laoshan District. At around 12 p.m. they were taken to Wanggezhuang Police Station. Xu Yingchun's home was ransacked. They found Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials. They took pictures of the items as evidence. At the police station, they were locked up in separate rooms and interrogated individually. The police registered their identities and coerced them to put down their signatures before letting them go. Sui Lianfang and Zhang Jing refused to sign.
Because these two refused to sign the document, the police attempted to take pictures of them. They said, "We cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and try to be good people. We did not commit any crime," and thus they also refused to have their photos taken. The police still forcefully took pictures of them.
On the morning of June 17, the police forcibly took the four of them for a physical check up. After that, they were sent to Dashan Forced Labor Camp.
On June 18, as Sui Lianfang and Zhang Jing did not pass the physical check up, they could not be accepted by the Dashan Forced Labor Camp. However, the police still refused to let them go. They coerced the family members to hand over money as "bail" before releasing them. The family members each paid 3150 yuan as "bail money" before the practitioners were released. Li Xiujun and Xu Yingchun are still being detained at the Dashan Forced Labor Camp.
While they were detained, their houses were ransacked. Their Falun Gong books and truth clarification materials were confiscated.
