(Clearwisdom.net) Divine Performing Arts (DPA) made its first appearance at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in Purchase, New York on January 23, 2009, and performed the Chinese New Year Splendor at the Radio City Music Hall on Sunday.
Divine Performing Arts consists of three dance companies, which are on a 2009 world tour throughout many cities in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and North America. Taking its inspiration from a 5,000-year-old Chinese culture, their dances are a variety based on the country's myths, legends and historical stories. State-of-the-art animated backdrops dazzle the audience with ancient and modern themes, such as majestic palaces, Mongolian plains, rustic temples, cascading clouds, and more.
Carole Denigris, from Greenwich, Connecticut and a student of Chinese art, was excited about the seeing the show for the second time. "Oh it was beautiful, I was here last year and I loved it last year and this year when I saw it advertised in the Greenwich Times I thought, 'Oh, I've got to bring my friends.' So, I have several Korean friends that I brought with me and my son and my husband. There are seven of us, a lucky seven."
"I loved the scenery, besides the dancing and the music. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, and being a student of the Chinese art, I appreciate the scenery even more than the average person, because I do that type of work, and so I am inspired," Carole explained enthusiastically.
When she was asked what type of work she is painting, Carole replied: "The traditional Chinese work with the landscapes and the flowers and all of the beautiful birds and so forth. Everything that is traditional."
Carole said in conclusion: "I love it, it is inspiring, it just makes me want to go home and start painting."
