(Clearwisdom.net) Divine Performing Arts (DPA) visited Germany for the first time in its 2009 World Tour with a Saturday night performance at the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt on February 21, 2009.
Mr. Elsner, a former chair of the German construction board, came to see DPA at the behest of his wife. After watching the show, he mentioned being especially impressed with the design of the show. "It was breathtaking, but also rich in variety and expressiveness, the colors were just wonderful," he said.
Mr. Elsner mentioned that he had previous encounters with Chinese culture and Confucian philosophy, and that the show revealed to him other aspects of Chinese culture, which he hadn't previously known about. "I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't have much to do with modern China. Today's China is controlled. The Chinese who are watching it will surely be pleased."
"Currently, China is on the brink of change. However, I'm sure that China will have her own leaders in the future. I wonder if the philosophy that was discussed at the end [of the show] will have a future with all Chinese."
Mr. Elsner also found the music in the show to be impressive. "I wasn't aware that Chinese music is so rich." Mr. Elsner was also fascinated by the landscapes depicted on the backdrop. "It showed very colorful images. I was familiar with the landscapes from drawings. It was like a colorful festival, and the dances were diverse. One common thread was the colorful joy. I have to say it was breathtaking."
Mr. Hegner, publisher of a German newspaper, also attended DPA opening European performance and said the show was at the top of the list of his favorite shows. He liked the digital backdrops best of all--"wonderful colors, very aesthetic." "I must point out that the backdrops were exceptionally beautiful, very pleasant to the eyes, gorgeous photos due to the computer animation. This was really very impressive. Also, the entire culture, all that these scenes were based on, the stories behind the performances, is what made it so interesting."

Mr. Hegner said that he had seen quite a few Chinese shows, but DPA show had given him greater insight into the Chinese culture: "This showed me a Chinese culture that I had not known. I just knew everything that was based on communism."
He was not surprised to hear that DPA is banned in China: "This says it all. This is just as I thought. We are now in a country that cherishes freedom, which is totally rejected by that totalitarian regime. Anyone who wants to learn about Chinese culture should see this show. The entire culture was made known through the songs and the dances. That was most impressive," he said.
Mr. Leifrimu from the Netherlands, president of a ceramics company, and his wife were both pleasantly surprised by the experience. "It was wonderful, unexpectedly wonderful. I didn't know anything about the show. My wife picked me up after getting the tickets. It truly was beautiful," Mr. Leifrimu said.
His favorite program was: "The flowers, the flowers--on one hand the spring flowers [Welcoming Spring], and on the other hand the Udumbara flower [The Udumbara's Bloom] scenes were just beautiful."
"Also, I was impressed with the beautiful music, and everything else associated with the entire show. It is difficult to express in words why one loved something and why one didn't quite like something else. The show also touched my heart a little. I'm familiar with the music as I was in Vietnam and their music is similar. That is the reason why I loved it."
