New Vision with a Fresh Inspiration
Former Principal of Guozhong School and Taichung Commissioner Mr. Chen Niantian and his wife saw the first performance. "Fresh inspiration," he said. "The performance becomes better and better--I have seen DPA for three years. I hope that the performance will become more popular, so that there will be more performances." He hopes DPA can enable more people to learn about Chinese traditional culture.
Commissioner Chen said, "As an educational gardener, I think that culture is like an investment. Like the story of 'The Monkey King,' it is about speaking well of goodness and restricting evil, with great humor and setting men's hearts in line. We should have more such stories."
Mr. Chen's wife also like "The Monkey King" and said, "'The Monkey King' is wonderful and dramatic."
Commissioner Chen had high praise for the performance. "The performance is full of color that incorporates all colors." He said that he will recommend it to others and also suggested that the government should promote DPA so that more people would get to see it.
Touched by the True Soul of 5000 Years of Civilization
Yunlin County Commissioner Ms. Zhou Xiuyue graduated from a music and dance department in an art university. The second time she saw the performance, she said that, just like last year, she was astounded. She said that the backdrop was a very good artistic idea, and the vocalists provided much food for thought.

Commissioner Zhou said, "The dances revealed more than that of our 5000 years of culture. DPA exudes the spirit of the culture and deeply touches me. We want to see the performance again. It is wonderful."
She was deeply moved and enlightened by "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution." "In the society we live in, there are so many examples which DPA brings to life very well and makes us feel we should all have Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
Commissioner Zhou said that she understood the message conveyed by DPA: "You should love others and be tolerant. Of course, we should also rid ourselves of cruel behavior."
She was grateful to the DPA for such a wonderful performance. "Tonight there are about 300 to 400 people in our county seeing the show. We are very pleased to get to see such a good art performance. Thank you very much. We really appreciate it. "
Deputy College President Praising Shenyun: "Spiritual and Illuminating"
It is the third time that Professor Li Suxiang, deputy president of Chaoyang Science and Technology Institute, has seen a DPA performance. "Wonderful, wonderful!" Professor Li said, "Although some of the movements in the dances are very strong, still the movements look gentle. It is very comfortable to see such dances, and the music is marvelous." She was also very surprised by the backdrop: "I have never seen a performance like this before. DPA really takes great pains to produce such a performance."
Art institute superintendent: DPA broadens the audience's outlook
Professor Lin Yushan, Department Head of Fine Arts at Zhanghua Normal School and superintendent of an art institute, said that he thought the performance broadens audience's outlook and that he looked forward to the continuation of such performances that promoted the development of traditional Chinese culture.
It was the first time that Professor Li had ever seen the DPA. He said, "With the combination of different folk dances, the melding of classical dance and music, the male and female singers, and the integration of Western interests and Eastern dances, the effect was really profound."
Professor Lin commented on the costume designs and thought that they revealed the peaceful and spiritual style of ancient China. He said, "Uniquely different from luxuriant costumes in other dance performances, the costumes in this performance are simple, to the point, and tranquil. It is the simple, traditional design for folk dance costumes that brings us another style, a style of tranquility and the spirit of ancient times."
