(Clearwisdom.net) On March 16, 2009, Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour presented its sixth show at the Laogong Education and Music Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The show attracted many people from artistic circles, who had high praise for the show; not only for the perfection of its artistry, but also for its ability to purify the heart and mind and renew the body.
Musician Hong Xiaoqin: "Diligently performed the perfect show"
Ms. Hong Xiaoqin, who plays the oboe, was invited by a friend to see the show. Afterward she said that it was the first time that she had ever seen such a beautiful show that combined dance and music and expressed the full essence of five thousand years of Chinese history. It was a shock but also deeply moving.

Ms. Hong could feel the diligence of the musicians, dancers, singers and everyone involved in the production. She emphasized, "It is not just a perfect show. The culture, morality, and the message they want to convey to the audience, so well expressed through art and beauty, deeply and clearly reached every audience member."
As a professional musician herself, when she learned that the music, dance, and costumes were all original compositions and designs, she was deeply impressed.
Ms. Hong remarked that, while in todays' society people face many difficulties, financial troubles and stressful situations, "Watching the show not only relaxed the mind, but most importantly purified the heart and soul. When you leave the theater, you feel your body is renewed, your heart is purified, and your mind is elevated."
Hong Xiaoqin won first place in the oboe competition at University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in 1988. She has performed with the Vienna Orchestra to great reviews. She now teaches at Kaosiung Teacher's College, Tainan University, and Tainan Technique University Department of Music. She also teaches music classes at Kaosiung Middle School and XinZhuang High School. She is a very active performer who performs both as a soloist and in concert with the Kaosiung Youth Orchestra, Kaosiung City Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tainan City Symphony Orchestra.
Chorus Conductor Wang Tingyi: "The Shen Yun show brings people refreshing and amazing feelings with each scene"
Ms. Wang Tingyi, the conductor of Xinguang Pingdong Women's Chorus, was on the edge of her seat and full of hope and expectation from the very beginning of the show. She was elated and said that it was the third time she had seen the show, yet every tiny detail, from the costumes and stage design for the new acts this year, enlightened her to new trends in art.

Ms. Wang said that each number of the Shen Yun show had its own theme and that the show attracted people through Chinese classical dance. She said that when the hosts were introducing the next program to the audience, she tried to guess what kinds of costumes and dance she would see when the curtains went up, and each time she was amazed.
She liked very much the dance, "Monk Ji Abducts the Bride." The performances of the characters and the final sudden collapse of the mountain deeply impressed her. Ms. Wang herself is a vocalist, and she highly praised all the original music, the unique use of musical instruments, and the outstanding performance. She especially appreciated the outstanding voice of the famous vocalist Ms. Yang Jiansheng. She said, "(Her voice is) Extraordinary! Outstanding!"
Mr. Li Changjie, Conductor of Shiyan Chorus: "The Shen Yun show presents us with hope for the Chinese people"
Mr. Li Changjie, Conductor of Kaohsiung City Shiyan Chorus
Mr. Li Changjie, the head and conductor of Kaohsiung Shiyan Chorus, was very glad he had seen the show. He said that it impressed people very much. "There was no theatrical line--it relied only on the music and body language of the artists to magically deliver the message, which the audience could fully understand and enjoy."
Mr. Li said that he has seen many performances, but Shen Yun was both creative and spiritual, and that's what moved him most. He pointed out that every artist not only had good technique, but was also very responsible. There was a momentum behind each performance. He also had high praise for the overall coordination of the dance and music.
As director of a media company, Mr. Li especially noted the moving delivery in the dance "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution." He said that everyone, young and old, can pull through difficulties together. Although it was not directly expressed by dialog, he noted that you could still feel the strength behind the performance. He thought this dance was the most fascinating. He believed that it would be appreciated by people all over the world, artists or not, because the material was really moving.
Throughout the whole performance Li Changjie found hope and creativity. He said that the show let him see the motivation and hope of the Chinese people. He felt that such a show should be performed frequently, not just once a year, thus motivating all Taiwanese. Li Changjie planned to use the inspiration he derived from the show to improve the performance of his chorus.
