(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) continues to impress the arts-savvy West End theatre-goers, as it performs at the New London Theater. The DPA artists were lauded with much applause throughout the entire show, and before the last curtain fell, they received an enthusiastic standing ovation.
In the audience was Mr. Bennett OBE, [Order of the British Empire, a special honor presented by the Queen), a flute player by profession, who has played with most of the major orchestras in Great Britain. He was pleased by what he saw and heard. This was the second time that Mr. Bennett had seen the show.
Mr. Bennett's highly attuned musical sensitivities were tantalized by the Erhu performance, entitled "Hope." "I enjoyed the Erhu most. It's a special instrument, which has a special human quality. It does something. I don't really know [what it is about the Erhu], it just sort of really gets inside. And there it says 'Oh! this does something'."
One of Mr. Bennett's favorite performances was "Monk Ji Gong Abducts the Bride," "I very much liked the dance with the abduction [of the bride] that saved people from calamity, I thought that was great fun."
Mr. Bennett was really taken by the Divine Performing Arts orchestra, commenting, "I liked the Chinese instruments the best. When you suddenly hear the Chinese [instrument] doing some special things, you think, 'Oh, that's good'!"
More than forty years ago Mr. Bennett worked with another musician to significantly advance the sound of the flute. He and his colleague developed a better way of tuning the flute, which changed the way flutists work. He was given a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to music.
Opera Singer: Message of compassion
Opera singer Ms. Miriam was also in the audience, and she was happy to share her delight with the show. "I think it's wonderful. It's very beautiful, very colorful, lots of energy. Very enjoyable," she said. As a singer she could truly hear and appreciate the quality of the singers' voices, and she said, "The singers were very beautiful!"
Ms. Miriam echoed the thoughts of many, "The costumes were magnificent ... very bright and happy."

She added, "It was very colorful, and they worked very hard. There was always a genuine feeling behind the performances. The music as well, is very good. It was very enjoyable. The artists were sincere and genuine in their feelings and hope for the future."
