(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Feng Qiang, 55, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Luojiahui Village, Xiahuai District, Pingshan County, in Hebei Province. She led a very difficult life before she started Falun Dafa cultivation practice. She had several marriages that ended in unhappiness, and she is now a stepmother of two children. She previously had very poor health, but after she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, she became a happy and kind-hearted person. She began always putting others' interests first. Her health drastically improved and she lived happily with her family and neighbors. Nonetheless, this kind-hearted person has been relentlessly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for the past nine years.
1. Repeatedly Arrested, Tortured, and Extorted for Money by Police
When the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Feng went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and put in a district detention center for nine days by Feng Qingfang and Xiao Suilong, officers from the Pingshan Public Security Bureau. Feng Qingfang extorted 320 yuan out of Ms. Feng's husband before she was released.
On the morning of February 21, 2000, without a search warrant, Xiao Suilong and two other police officers went to Ms. Feng's home and tried to force Ms. Feng to turn in her Falun Gong books. When she refused, they ransacked her house and confiscated one copy of Zhuan Falun, more than twenty tapes, and a cassette player which was worth more than 100 yuan. They took Ms. Feng to the police station.
The police started viciously hitting Ms. Feng and forced her to kneel down before them. Ms. Feng said, "You are not worthy!" She started reciting the Fa. Helplessly, they sent her to the Pingshan Detention Center that day.
While she was detained there, Ms. Feng requested that the police return her Dafa books. They ignored her request and imprisoned her in shackles for eight days and nights. They also handcuffed her hands behind her back, the handcuffs cutting into her flesh. While experiencing excruciating pain, Ms. Feng started shouting and reciting Lunyu. Ms. Feng still has numbness in her hands and arms.
After she was held in the detention center for 35 days, Feng Qingfang tried to force Ms. Feng to write a so-called "Guarantee Letter."She wrote: "I want to be a good person." Agitated, Feng tore the paper apart and started beating her severely. The detention center again extorted 1,200 yuan out of her husband without giving him a receipt.
In the evening of July 20, 2001, policemen Li Subing, Li Chunhai, Yang Xicun, Su Shihua, and Wu Xiwei from the Xiahuai Police Station went to Ms. Feng's home and arrested her. Before she was taken away, she wanted to use the bathroom, but was refused by the police. After much struggle, she managed to use the bathroom. The police used a flashlight to watch her. When she came out, she suddenly fell down to the floor, showing symptoms of a convulsion. Her husband told them, "Her old illness has recurred. We'd better not do anything." They started calling the precinct to discuss with their boss what they should do. The police finally left the house at 11:00 p.m.
Before dawn the next morning, they came back to arrest Ms. Feng. She again fell down like the previous night. Nonetheless, they handcuffed her and forcibly carried her to the car. They took her to the Experimental Middle School Brainwashing Center in Pingshan County. When she stepped out of the car, she fell down again. The police tried to force her to sign her name on a paper, but she refused. She was released that day.
On March 24, 2004, Ms. Feng went to Liangjiagou Village in Xibaipo District to clarify the truth to people in the village. She was arrested by Su Shihua and Chen Wenjin, the captain of Xibaipo Police Station. Ms. Feng shouted, "Falun Gong is good!" Su grabbed her hair and started hitting her on the face. A lot of her hair was pulled out.
Ms. Feng was taken to the police station that day and handcuffed to a bench for the entire night. The next day, Su Shihua, Li Subing, Yang Xicun, Li Chunhai and Fu Qingshan went to ransack her house again. Without an arrest warrant, they stole four cassette players. Whenever Ms. Feng started to recite the Fa, Su Shihua hit her until her ears were bleeding. He was afraid that passersby would see the wound, so he wrapped a towel around her head. Ms. Feng was transferred later that day to the Public Security Bureau. Su and other police forcibly dragged her from the first to the third floor and back again. After that, they took her to a detention center where she was persecuted further. As a result, she lost her ability to walk.
2. Ms. Feng Persecuted by the CCP in Xiahuai District
On January 1, 2001, CCP personnel led by Wang Xintang, the captain of the Xiahuai Police Station, Wang Yanbo, Su Shihua, Li Chunhai and Yang Xicun feared that Ms. Feng would go to Beijing to appeal for justice. They intruded into Ms. Feng's home and again arrested her. They locked her in a district compound. Officer Cao Weiguo handcuffed her to a hot water pipe and started kicking her in the spine area, which resulted in heavy bleeding in her lower body for 14 days. She still suffers from the spinal cord injury when she tries to sit down.
Han Shitang, another practitioner who was detained there, was tortured for a night. He couldn't walk or eat. The next morning, Zhao Zhenfang, party secretary of the Xiahuai District, was still kicking him. Ms. Feng shouted to him, "He is almost at his last breath, and yet you are still torturing him." Zhao walked up to her and slapped her face four times.
One day, Zhang Jianshe, the deputy district party secretary, wanted everyone to listen to him when he read a Chinese Communist editorial. Ms. Feng didn't cooperate with him and started to recite Lunyu. Zhang forcibly took her to the compound which was located downstairs and forced her to stand out in the cold weather. When she saw no one around, she began reciting the Fa. When there was someone around, she tried to clarify the truth to him. When the cold became unbearable, she practiced the Falun Dafa exercises. After the police saw that she was doing the exercises, they tied her to a tree, so that she couldn't move. As a result, her hands became swollen and bruises developed all over her body. They deprived her of sleep for more than twenty days. They also extorted ten yuan per day out of her for the so-called daily expenses. They also wouldn't let her go home for the Chinese New Year. She was released on January 21.
Before the Olympics Torch traveled to the Pingshan District, Feng Erdan, bookkeeper of Luojiahui Village, under the instigation by the local government, deceived Ms. Feng and stole her ID card and account book. Fearing that Ms. Feng would go to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong, Feng Erdan held her personal documents for more than two months.
3. CCP Personnel in Xiahuai Collude with the Police to Persecute Ms. Feng
At about 10:00 p.m. on April 23, 2001, Wang Xintang, Han Huijun, Wang Yanbo, Su Shihua, Feng Wulong, and Cao Weiguo arrested Ms. Feng in Luojiahui Village and took her to the local government offices.
Ms. Feng was shouting, "Falun Dafa is good! This is the most appalling injustice through the ages." The next day her husband went to pick her up. On April 24, at about midnight, Wang Yanbo, Su Shihua, Zhang Nangua, Yang Xicun, Li Chunhai and Feng Wulong again went to Ms. Feng's house and arrested her. They detained her for 11 days and deprived her of sleep. On May 5, at about 2:00 a.m., Ms. Feng jumped out of the building and ran away. In order to avoid being arrested again, she drifted around homeless and destitute. The police launched a large-scale search for her. One night at midnight, they secretly went to her home and arrested her again. Feng Dingzhong, party secretary of the Politics and Law Bureau, warned her husband, "Don't tell anyone what happen tonight."
4. Persecution in the Brainwashing Center
On May 20, 2004, Ms. Feng was sent to a forced labor camp. Because she was in critical condition from abuse in detention, the labor camp refused to accept her. The police then transferred her to a brainwashing center in Wentang District, where she was subjected to more persecution.
In the brainwashing class where she was detained, she was handcuffed except while eating meals and using the bathroom. Every noon, she was handcuffed to a bench outside for three to four hours while Jiao Tangyun, Jiao Zhiping and Feng Suhong took naps inside.
5. Persecution in the Forced Labor Camp
On June 4, 2004, after Ms. Feng was persecuted for 15 days in the brainwashing center, she was forcibly transferred to a forced labor camp in Shijiazhuang City.
