(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese culture was brought to life at the Queensland Conservatorium Theater when Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour delivered yet another stellar performance to a delighted Brisbane audience.
Ms. Hu moved to Australia recently from mainland China. "It was extraordinarily beautiful, so satisfying," she said. Having never seen anything like it in China, Ms. Hu expressed her pride in being able to see Shen Yun in Australia, and wished Shen Yun continued success.
It was certainly a night of enthusiastic appreciation for Shen Yun. Mr. Kotecha, an engineer, was brimming with energy and emphatically pronounced: "This is one of the things you should see before you die!" Mr. Kotecha, who designs high pressure pipelines, resonated particularly well with the "uplifting voices" of the four singers--soprano Chia-ning Hsu, tenor Yuan Qu, contralto Jiansheng Yang, and world-renowned tenor Guan Guimin. "They were just food for my soul. I love all cultures! Although I'm Indian, I'd love to get the good part from every culture and take it ... and enrich my life."
Speaking on the themes presented in Shen Yun, Mr. Kotecha said he felt a part of the show. "I wish I was on the stage with them. That's how I felt. I wish I was with them. I'm not a young person, but if I was as young as them, I would love to be part [of Shen Yun]. I found it's uplifting for the spirit. And it's beneficial for the soul. And I recommend everyone to see this show."
His only regret was he didn't bring his daughters along. "I'm going to make sure they go to Sydney to see the show. I'd like to capture this in my memory. If I have a chance I'd like to see this again."
Among the audience was a Chinese mainlander, who said Shen Yun "is something all Chinese can be proud of" after the performance. Leaving the theater after the show, Mrs. Chen could be heard telling her friends, "That was great! Brilliant!"
She said that Shen Yun had faithfully conveyed Chinese culture. "I was very excited; all the programs were excellent, brilliant. They showed the traditional culture of China, which made me very happy. They faithfully presented the true culture of China, from ancient times to the present ... especially with the introduction of celestial beings; it was very good."
Mrs. Chen came to Australia from Guangdong Province less than a year ago to see her daughter. While her daughter wasn't with her, she was accompanied by her 5-year-old grandson and some of her daughter's friends. She said the show contained deep messages, such as the story of drunken poet Li Bai ["The Poet's Vision"], which shows his talents and styles of poetry.
She also liked the skills displayed by the performers in the "The Monkey King Triumphs." Mrs. Chen said she had seen other shows in China, but none compared. "Shen Yun Performing Arts really shows what is good, truly good. Nothing from China can compare with that. The singing was good, it sounded good. The lyrics were clear and easy to understand. The dancers were skilled, especially the one showing phoenix dancing [The Mystical Phoenix]; it was beautiful. They danced flawlessly."
Another two audience members, friends Helen and Diane, grew up together and often go to see shows. "It was just absolutely out of this world," said Diane. "Oh, I'd love to see it again and again! It was absolutely wonderful. The performance was marvelous. I was crying sometimes, it was so beautiful. Absolutely wonderful. There's nothing you can say that wasn't absolutely gorgeous. It gets right to your heart, and I think it unites people. I hope that it does unite people across the world, that there is no division between whatever country we come from. We're all one people."
Helen had similar things to say. "Absolutely wonderful, quite emotional actually." She said the show would appeal to anyone, regardless of their age or culture. "I think it's an encouragement for people to want something better in life," Helen said. "That's what I felt. I just could feel the goodness of the people. It was just beautiful, absolutely beautiful ... Very, very talented, beautiful people."
