(Clearwisdom.net) On February 20, 2009, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Han Yuheng from Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, was on a business trip in Beijing. At around 7:30 p.m., she was arrested by the officers from Yongding Road Police Station in the Haidian District of Beijing at the Tiejian Hotel near Yuquan Road, where she and six accompanying colleagues were staying.
All Falun Dafa practitioners who have been identified by various authorities of the Chinese Communist Party have had their identification card numbers recorded. Each time they check into a hotel with their identification cards, the computer will give a special indication. The National Security Team notified the Yongding Road Police Station in the Haidian District of Ms. Han's arrival. On February 21st at around 1:30 p.m., the police ordered the attendant to open the door of Ms. Han's room under the pretense of a routine check. The police entered the room and found a copy of "Minghui Weekly" on the bed. They started to check through Ms. Han's belongings and found two copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, several truth-clarifying letters, and several sets of Shen Yun DVDs (three DVDs per set), small stickers, about 20 monetary bills that had truth-clarifying phrases written on them, and a copy of Zhuan Falun.
They took Ms. Han to Yongding Road Police Station. The next afternoon, she was taken to the Beijing Public Security Bureau Haidian Sub-bureau Detention Center at 25 Longgang Road, Qinghe Township. Later she was sent to Daxing Forced Labor Dispatch Department. She was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor.
Practicing Falun Dafa Improves Physical and Mental Wellbeing
Ms. Han Yuheng, 40 years old, is the head of the Junior Middle School Office of Qinghuangdao Education Bureau in Hebei Province. Her professional title is Senior Teacher.
Ms. Han started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. Before she started cultivation, she suffered from many diseases that couldn't be cured even after consulting many doctors. Once she started to practice Falun Dafa, all her diseases miraculously disappeared. After experiencing the mighty power of Falun Dafa, she strove to be a better person according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was always happy to help others and everyone felt that she was a good person. Ms. Han has obtained over 20 Certificates of Honor at both the provincial and municipal levels, and has given open lessons on the Qinghuangdao Televison Station. She has also helped to compile nearly 20 textbooks and has an outstanding record of academic achievement.

Persecuted for Appealing in Beijing
In October 1999, in order to tell the government and the people about the goodness of Falun Dafa, Ms. Han went to Beijing to appeal to the government. She saw many practitioners being arrested as soon as they arrived at the Appeals Office, without being given a chance to clarify the situation. Ms. Han felt she had to go to Tiananmen Square to validate the Fa. She was arrested while doing the exercises and detained for about two days in Beijing. She was taken to the second office of Haigang Public Security Bureau in Qinghuangdao and later transferred to Qinghuangdao No.1 Detention Center, where she was detained for a month. To try to force her to give up her belief, the officers tried handcuffing her hands behind her back, handcuffing her to a heating pipe, and forbidding her from using the toilet for a long period of time, but their tactics were unsuccessful. Later, they deceived her family members including her parents, husband, and her little boy into trying to pressure her to give up her belief, but Ms. Han remained firm. She was then taken to a brainwashing session.
Ms. Han has now been taken to the Beijing Forced Labor Camp Dispatch Office, and the relevant authority has sent the sentencing announcement for two years of forced labor to Ms. Han's family.
Law Enforcement Officials of Related Departments Violated and Perverted the Law
1. On February 21, personnel from Yongan Road Police Station in the Haidian District Public Security Bureau in Beijing entered the Tiejian Hotel to search through Ms. Han's personal belongings without showing any credentials or search warrants, which was illegal.
2. After seizing Ms. Han's personal belongings, they did not provide a list of the items to her family, as required by law, nor did they return anything to her family. This was an act of robbery.
3. After they arrested Ms. Han, they failed to notify her family within 24 hours. They even threatened her accompanying colleagues to keep them from telling her family. They deliberately violated laws which they knew very well.
4. The Public Security Bureau prohibited the lawyer from meeting the litigant. This is a violation of the law and a violation of the litigant's legal rights.
Misidentifying the Facts
The Labor Camp Management Committee claims that Ms. Han "concealed" publicity materials relating to Falun Gong; but there is no law that regulates such materials as illegal to carry. Therefore, the accusation that she violated the law has no legal grounds. Furthermore, the Falun Gong related materials can be seen in offices, shops, private homes, and government organizations and carried by anyone. There is no current law in China that says people are not allowed to keep such materials. Some work units and communities are forced to issue notices to hand in such objects, but that is not within the law. It is against the constitution. It violates human rights and has no legal grounds, because such objects or materials do not harm anyone or anything. It is a matter of freedom of speech and belief, which are protected by the constitution. The judgment failed to point out which law or government department Ms. Han is against or which management procedure she harmed.
Mistake in Implementing the Law
The Forced Labor System is illegal. It should not exist, nor should it be used to punish people. It should be abolished.
Law enforcement officials from Yongding Road Police Station violated the law by "illegally arresting" people. This conduct should be corrected. The Labor Camp Management Committee of Beijing People's Municipal Government made serious mistakes in identifying the facts and implementing the law in Ms. Han Yuheng's case. The decision should be rescinded and Ms. Han should be unconditionally released without penalty and be compensated for all her loss and suffering. Her unlawful sentence handed down without evidence by the relevant officials should be investigated, and responsibility for these illegal acts should be affixed. The concerned party reserves the right to investigate criminal responsibility.
Departments involved in the persecution:
The Preliminary Hearing Office, the Legal Office and other departments of the Haidian Public Security Bureau
Beijing Public Security Bureau (the Legal Office and other departments)
The Forced Labor Management Committee of the Beijing People's Municipal Government (the department that approves decisions regarding forced labor sentences)
