(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Shengrong, 70 years old, is a Falun Dafa
practitioner in the Wuhou District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. In April
2009, Ms. Zheng hired a lawyer to get her son, Tao Yuan released from
illegal detention. Mr. Yuan is also a Falun Dafa practitioner, and
was secretly arrested by the police. To deter him from taking on the case,
police officers from the Integrated Management Office beat and injured the
lawyer, Mr. Cheng Hai. After the incident was exposed in the media, many people,
both inside Mainland China and overseas, have condemned the police's action. The
local police have arrested Ms. Zhang and taken her to a brainwashing center.
Since 2005, Jinyang police officers have been harassing Ms. Zhang Shengrong.
Especially after the exposure of Attorney Cheng's beating, the Jinyang Street's
Integrated Management Office sent six people, divided into three groups, to
follow and monitor Ms. Zhang around the clock. When she stays home, those people
sit outside of her building. When she goes out, they follow her everywhere.

When Ms. Zhang returned home for a consultation with the lawyer, they found
that the lock on the door of her home had been changed by the police, and Ms.
Zhang could not use her key. She had to get a locksmith to open the door.
Ms. Zhang Shengrong and her son are both Falun Dafa practitioners. Both of them
have been persecuted repeatedly since the persecution began in July 1999. Ms.
Zhang was illegally detained multiple times. From December 26, 2001 to March 21,
2005, she was detained in the Jinhua Brainwashing Center in Wuhou District for
more than three years. She was followed and harassed afterwards. Her son, Mr.
Tao Yuan, was a graduate student in the History Department of Beijing's Normal
University. After being illegally arrested, detained and put in a forced labor
camp several times, Mr. Tao was secretly sentenced in January 2007. He is
currently being held in the Guangyuan Prison.
On March 27, 2009, Ms. Zhang Shengrong received a phone call from the Guangyuan
Prison. The guards told her that her son had a cervical dislocation and needed
an operation. Ms. Zhang hired a lawyer and tried to get her son released for
medical treatment. During a meeting with Ms. Zhang, the lawyer was beaten and
injured by officers from the Jinyang Street's Integrated Management Office.
Since the beginning of May, all connections to Ms. Zhang have been cut off.
Later, it was learned that she has been detained in a brainwashing center.
