Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang Huilan was a native of Mei County, Shaanxi Province and later moved to Baoji City in the same province. She was once detained for 15 days in Mei County when she returned to her hometown to distribute Falun Gong materials.

She was arrested on August 26, 2005 after being reported for passing out Falun Gong materials in Baoji City. She was taken to her workplace, Baiji Railway School, to be interrogated with torture. Her school princial, Li Baocai, and Party Secretary Weng Cunxin, provided room and board for the police during her detention there.

Several officers cuffed her hand behind her back. Officer He pressed her arm hard, causing excruitating pain. Her wrists bled after long-term cuffing. She passed out due to the pain and was rushed to a hospital. She was later given one year of forced labor.

Ms. Zhang filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin in May 2015 and was soon faced with frequent harassment by police.

One day around 9 p.m., several officers rang her doorbell and said they were from Qianhe Town Police Station and came to talk about her lawsuit. She refused to open the door and they left after a while.

Several days later, officers from Chencang Police Station knocked on her door, and she again refused to open the door. The police kept monitoring her, and she felt tremendous pressure.

She developed hepatic ascites and had trouble keeping food down. She died on June 25, 2016.
