Ms. Liu Yuying, about 60 years old, was a resident of Xinxiang City, Henan Province. On December 25, 2000, she traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Police and government officials arrested and detained her in the Xinxiang City Detention Center. After more than a month, she was transferred to Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Liu Yuying was released from the labor camp eight months later. By that time, Ms. Liu had become extremely weak from the persecution, was emaciated and could barely walk. After Liu Yuying returned home, perpetrators from the local police station and the district police departments from the surrounding areas continued to harass her at home. Under such tremendous mental pressure, Ms. Liu's health condition further deteriorated. She died on September 17, 2004.
